exactly. president was propably pushing also this time ,especially that the celebration is very important to polish people. now in the place of katyn after 70 years same thing happend but in differen circumstances - polish intelligence elites died in an massive

The USAF 737 crash that killed Clinton's Commerce Secy. was landing in thunderstorms at an airport that was closed for all other traffic because of the weather - ignoring a warning from another American plane that had landed prior suggesting that they divert. There are lots of instances of corporate jets crashing after the (well experienced) pilots were pressured by the pax to land against their best judgement.

not to mention the Polish president had criticized (in public) another pilot for his refusal to land at Tbilisi in 2008.

I dont know much about Poland except that they have a great vodka called Zubrowska. Don't drink American vodka, drink the real stuff. So I am going to buy a bottle to mourn the deaths.

By the way, my country did not do it, if you wonder. Must be the Iraqis.
 
I dont think theres any conspiration theory behind this one, maybe it was just to show the world what happened to polish people there 70 years before

the ceremony was supposed to start in an hour.

visibility was 400m, required visibility for landing is 1000m.

Russians told the pilot to fly on to Minsk or an airport in Belarus, but he refused. Reportedly flight recordings, heard by Polish and Russian investigators, confirm this.

The pilot that refused to land this president in Georgia, diverting to Azerbaijan, during the war was never allowed to fly him again.

incidentally Aeroflot stopped using this 1960s plane model last January.
