Hi People,

First, let me introduce myself as Hawkeye. I am new to this and the whole thing to do with Internet Marketing, Affiliate marketing, SEO and website development. One thing for sure is, I am not new in IT. I work as a network engineer. The reason am here is because I want to start making extra money outside what i do at the moment. Once I start making money, I will decide whether to quit my current job and start making money full time. I have already worked my arse out working as a network engineer.

My question is, since I am new to all this, what is the best way to get into this? Any recommended trainings? I have aready seen someone who is asking for over £1000.00 to train me in everything internet marketing. This person promised to teach me how to buy and sell Domain names, how to build websites using HTML. He also promised training me in everything Affiliated marketing and SEO. To cut a long story short, he promised to teach me to start earning as soon as possible. Please can someone here tell me whether it will be advisable to take this plunge or to stay clear from all this in case, this person wants to make money out of nothing from me. Please be gentle as this is my first time on this site.

Thank you all in advance.

Give me that £1000.00, I will teach you everything you need to know about everything in internet marketing.

I would say 1000 is well worth a quality course in IM.

However, it depends on who is doing the teaching and if they are effective.

It really depends on what you are trying to do specifically and how you consume information.

When I help my friends or teach newbs, I focus on practical info to help them accomplish their goals. I don't try to teach a little bit about everything bc that's boring and I have no interest in general info. I try to teach and combine it with action steps that will move the person along to reach their goals than simply giving them skill

tl:dr Learn more about the person before you sign up. It could definitely be a good deal if the person has great experience.

There are a few people on WF that would probably teach you the basics for 1000 that would be well worth your time and money. A few would be worth the money just to have their skype ID to field occasional questions.

Network Engineer? As in IT Network, or telecoms?

If it's the first one, lol @ not being able to buy a domain or write html.

Regardless, the process of buying a domain is very basic, if the OP cannot do that, he has no hope in internet marketing.

tbh, this is true.

If the teacher is worth the money, they will tell you which things you should figure out by using the Google. I can understand them teaching you about certain domain info like name servers & 301s (not how to do but what they are for) , but registration is stupid simple.

Buying domains is an extremely difficult process. I will teach you how to buy a pizza in papajohns.

Like other people have said the $1k investment would be really good provided it's someone good teaching you. If it's someone bad it could actually do more harm than good. It's easier to learn right the first time than get a bunch of bad habits ingrained into you that you have to unlearn later.

Is the guy a member here? If so what's his handle. If he's not what's his name. Maybe someone here knows him or someone else might have some experience with him.

I'm pretty sure he meant buying decent domains which is harder than just registering a godaddy account and spending money. It's not much harder for someone that can do decent keyword research and all of that, but to a newbie it's like learning to ollie for the first time.

I know plenty of engineers (electrical and network) that couldn't make a website to save their life, but they're more than capable of designing the circuitry or network that makes it so you can view a website. Sure, they could make it say "Hi, I'm Bob the engineer", but they have no idea what goes into make it standards compliant and cross browser compatible and I'm guessing that's what he would be taught.

EDIT:

Did you ever "call" telenet bbses? If so which ones where you on?

yo muthafuckas hawkeye is the shit, that nigga is fo real, gonna be ballin in dis bitch, pushin that fresh benz, soon as he drop that dime on learnin' how to buy da secret domains google don't no 'bout. it's gonna real. my nigga gonna get on PPC.BZ bitchezzz!!! gonna see how the tru playas do and THE GAME IS DEAD cause mothafucka hawkeye KILLED THAT SHIT - DON'T EVEN TRY TO GET IN IT NO MO'

Hawkeye, I'm sure you're a swell guy and everything, but this sounds corny as fuck:

Also, read through some threads for ten minutes before you hire some douchebag to teach you crap you can learn easily on your own. Maybe pay someone to teach you once you have some fundamentals to refer to.

First of all, if a newbie has no clue about buying good domain names within the first week of his journey, he has no future in interwebz. Hint: Google is your friend. I maybe blunt about his chances but that's the truth.

I can teach you for free

I will tell you all you need to know for free just send me a pm so we can start the training:zzwhip:

Honestly, I am new to this too but I've been a website developer, graphics designer and a business consultant for 4 years now. I wanted someone to work on my blog and I got charged about $5000 for 2 months, saying that they will get my traffic up and do content marketing. However, I am currently working on learning those things myself. I mean, look at it this way, even if I paid $5000, the outcome of my blog skyrocketing is not overnight. So, I decided that as I learn what I want to do with my blog and skills that I have, I can implement thing on the go instead of paying someone who will be doing the same. I suggest you start reading stuff on SEO and working on something small such as a blog. Ones you start seeing success with that, you can use the same concept for something else. It's a learning process that can help you out in the long run instead of paying someone.

Invest in educating yourself how to learn these new methodologies instead of paying someone to do it for you.
