Quikie (Newbie Question)

That being said, here is my opinion:

1. Since you already have a day job, don't grow impatient and do a little due diligence even if your end game is to pay for the education.
2. This means search through the WickedFire forums for at least a week before you spend your hard earned coin on anything. Get a feel for what we're talking about, and really spend time soaking in the Enlightened Members section and the Traffic & Content / Affiliate sections. Pay attention to dates, as some of the information may no longer be relevant.
3. Start coming up with an idea, something you can either test yourself for the sake of knowledge and experience, or something that your paid mentor can help you with (or immediately tell you what is flawed about it). The point is, do some independent thinking and get a little muscle memory around what it feels like to execute.
4. Search around here for someone worth paying. There are a lot of people around here with a great deal of information. Pay attention to join date and post count as well as reputation, but don't let any of those things be determining factors. At the end of it all, ask other reputable members about potential mentors and make sure you research their post history. Other than that, there isn't much else you can do to build a warm and fuzzy around hiring a stranger to teach you the ropes.

Good luck.

Any time you redesign a website and/or move it to a new platform or content management system (CMS), there are many things to consider. So it’s great that you’re asking these questions before making any changes. It’s interesting that many of the sites I’ve reviewed that were hit by Google’s Panda or Penguin updates were similar to yours: old static HTML sites that hadn’t been updated in a long time.
