This is a very sad day. Even though it will take years for the rules to be implemented, mark down todays date, as the day the internet was killed.

That's it. Nice job Washington. You sold it (as will be evidenced by the next 5 posters in this thread), but you and I know the truth.

Maybe this will start the push for meshnetworks, more darknet activity, etc.

R.I.P Internet

Is anyone here for NN?

Im not for or against net neutrality. I am for the government keeping their filthy fucking hands off the internet. It does not matter what they put in their rules. Good, bad or other. Those rules will change fundamental make up of the internet as we know it. How could they not? Dont be fooled by the rhetoric. This is about power. Nothing more, nothing less.

Didn't the Internet die about a decade ago when Google took it over. Did it come back to life since then?

So is the theory that just because the gov made any regulation whatsoever at all it's bad? I don't know the exact laws that were passed but if you have a specific complaint let me know. They often obscure bad laws in good names and in good press.

Although I haven't seen all the regulations, not sure they are published yet, but I generally think this was a good thing. I don't think internet companies necessarily had the customers best interest in mind and they did it to themselves.

I'm torn. On one hand - I have absolutely no faith in the government to regulate the internet.

On the other, I've been going through the Comcast bullshit loop for years, overpaying for shitty internet with no alternatives.

336 pages of "you have to pass it to see what's in it". Here comes licensing of blogs and websites, throttling of traffic to make it fair, no political blogs within election time periods, etc. Another power grab by Ovomit. And on the same day he decries by stroke of pen, no more sale of ammo for AR15's. Fascist POS.
