Radar Detector or a Jammer?

For people in Cali, if you ever get a ticket go here:

Ticket Assassin: Trial by Written Declaration - EXAMPLE

I beat 2 tickets using their written declarations. The owner was AWOL for years but now the site is back in action. You might be able to use their defenses in other states that allow trial by written declaration. I rarely get tickets but when I do I always fight them with trial by written declaration.
 


My question is? Where the fuck are you guys speeding to.

Consider human death statistics before old age and you just might want to slow down.

This is coming from a person that went to jail (almost prison) for being a dump ass on his beemer when he was young.
 
Speeding is an addiction. I drive really really fast. I'm a good, observant driver and I don't drive drunk etc but there is nothing like the backroads here and seeing the needle touch on the "way too motherfucking fast" side of the gauge. Like flying.

I got so many tickets in the US for speeding, like really then why do you have a "fast" lane america? So nice here, I used to be scared of the cops up there. You see those lights in your rearview and all the sudden you feel like you are a terrorist sitting on a ton of meth and some homemade explosives. Non criminal people feel like criminals. Here ten dollars american to the cop for his lunch and I'm peeling out, gravel flying.

Fuck american police, just fuck that

In my experience with the Redline Escort it depends on the signal if it's KA band then it can detect it from far and you'll have enough time, some times it will start beeping and I will slow down looking around to see where the cop is and then shortly after I might see one pass by.

It's different with lasers though, with lasers it seems to be instant, pretty much as soon as it alerts it means it got you. It even tells you something like that in the instructions as soon as you hear laser you have to slow down immediately. Which is what happened in my case but, I was doing 106 in a 70. I do remember it beeping but, I couldn't slow down quick enough but, anyway as soon as I realized it beeping I saw the cop come out on the road. Maybe if I wasn't going as fast I could have heard the alert and have enough time to slow down.

Most cops seem to use KA band though, I've only heard the laser alert twice and I think the second time I didn't see the cop but, I was probably going around the speed limit.
 
If I am not mistaken the laser gun uses light to bounce off your vechile and as some members mentioned, radar detectors can only notify you about laser guns when it hits your car...which is obviously too late. At the same time, jammers are completely useless in this case as well.
 
I use to get tickets all the time, like 4 in month once. Tell you what I do:

First of all, I don't really pay attention to speed limits. Every road they change. School district, HWY, county, city, blah blah blah.. it changes.

I just follow what seems to be the average speed of other cars around me which can still get you in trouble and some times your just "in front" of the pack. While doing this, I try to find someone that is in a hurry and get behind them with the thinking a cop will bust this person before me unless the cop comes up behind me.

I also use a radar detector

I also use my cruise control if I know I am going to be on the HWY for a long period of time ( over 60 minutes ).

When I get pulled over, if the stretch of road make it seem logical, I tell the cop I am not sure how I was speeding b.c I had my cruise control on and set to whatever the speed limit was. Make sure to have that thing on when you get pulled over though. I have gotten out of 3 tickets this way.

Since doing these thing, I prob get 1 warning a year and no tickets.

If I were you, i'd buy a detector and a jammer both.

What? Are you 16? Cops can and do give out tickets and/or take you to jail for pretty much any reason they want. They can haul your ass away under "suspicion" if they feel like it. Thinking otherwise is cute, naive, but cute.

Side note: Easy way to avoid all this stuff. Just go the speed limit.

concur. the speed limit generally means that's the TOP speed you should go. But how angry do you get when you're behind someone who is going below that number.?

Radar Detectors - Like Standard SEO Practices.. They ain't gonna work forever.. Eventually Google (the cops) gonna put you in jail... Rather get the ticket, and maybe I would wise the fuck up... Karma always wins bro.:1orglaugh:
 
Dudes... The ONLY time speeding makes a BIT of fucking diffo is on a long trip, and most US highways are 70mph or better already. Usually, this means they will give you 5-10 mph on top of that as long as you're not being an asshole and show them you are paying attention and hit the brakes as soon as you see them.

Of far more importance is maintaining your speed with the general flow of traffic, and USING YOUR FUCKING CRUISE SO YOU DON'T STUTTER ALL OVER THE PLACE LIKE A FUCKING RETARD AND PISS ME OFF. Maintain your speed & interval for fucks sake.

And stay the fuck right or at least pay attention and move over when someone is trying to play through.
