Ranked On First Page!!!!

had 6/10 on the first page for Cash Advance on Google and 4/10 for Payday Loans :)

Really the number of results doesn't mean that much. There's some very hard terms with not that many results and very easy terms with 10's of millions. Personally I don't think results is a good judge of difficulty.

I agree I don't like to judge difficulty off the amount of results a page has but I figured might as well have some fun and see what the results for others are at.

I want to get into SEO, but hate how much long term work is involved. That's why I prefer PPC's short term quick traffic, but it isn't working as well as I would like. So, seems I have to get into SEO. I could purchase backlinks, but hell if I know how I would get inbound links. Damned if I'm going to try to contact these fucks myself.

You keep telling yourself that and spread the word about it so more people will stop doing SEO, at least then it'll make my job much easier, oh wait it already is easy.

I'm only trying to be inconsiderate here because I hear so many people saying how hard and how long SEO is to pull off on a site which in my mind is complete bullshit, the hardest part out of it all is sustaining your link building, thats it, nothing harder then that, the rest lies in 5 minutes of on page SEO and when done right you'll get indexed inside 2 weeks (Actually 1 week if your decent).

Otherwise yes you'll take up to 6 months if not longer to get a site indexed. But this is both ways if your not doing very much long term projects (I.E. Most Affiliate Offers) and your only goal is to get conversions then your 100% correct SEO means complete shit and has nothing to do with it but on the other hand if your site is going to be around for a little while you might as well take the extra 10 minutes up front SEO it properly, then take the extra 10 minutes per day link building or if your super lazy just outsource that shit, those indian workers are cheap, sure most don't do the best jobs but there are a lot of them which do excellent work for cheap, you've just got to look.

Maybe some of you should share your secrets in the $55/month Premier Business Membership Forum.

If you want the help and if your a member I'll be glad to start up a thread in there and share all the things that I know and get another discussion going on but there are already some good threads about SEO out there like this one.

I used many, many expired MySpace accounts (PR 2,3,4,5) to rank #1 for a very competitive three letter keyword... and still there today.

i ranked number one for "kitty litter puppy paw prints" in google.

big money term, let me tell you. the daily grind of trying to keep ahead of other competing SEO's eventually drove me away from the niche.

good luck to any aspiring webmasters... it's like they say, if you can rank for that, you can rank for "buy viagra."

Guys, Smaxor is right, number of results doesn't necessarily correlate with the level of difficulty to rank for a keyword. I'm sure what is more important is having more positive factors than the 10th result. Domain age/authority, number of backlinks, quality of backlinks, keywords...

If a keyword has 38,000,000 results but the first ranking site is just a domain registered in 2006, has only 100 backlinks from some no-name blogs. It would probably be very easy to overtake it.

Yeah, I'm a member of that forum and if you write up a post with more information I'll take a read. I've read that Wickedfire's Guide to SEO by SEOMike, I printed it and have it on hard copy. I understand the onsite SEO. I'm just having a hard time either finding the energy to do the offsite work, or just thinking it's not going to work.

I have this one site online it's more of a landing page for an affiliate offer. I had some cloaking done to it, and submitted to Google and search engines. I stopped promoting it on PPC, and I still get some traffic, and a sale here and there and haven't really done anything else to it. I just placed an order to purchase a 100 backlinks. So, I would like to get more into SEO. If I'm getting sales without doing at all, might as well put some work into it and see how it does.

I would like to know an easy way to get links. I know there's an article on BlehatSEO about Link Laundering. Maybe I need to look more into that. How do you get inbound links, do you just e-mail somebody that has a site releated in your niche and say have, "Put my link on your webpage, but don't expect the same in return.". Or do you puchase inbound links? Can you get a site to rank well without inbound links and just backlinks? What's a good number of backlinks to get to a site daily or weekly? Do quality backlinks make that much more of a difference? If you had the option to purchase a larger amount of PR2 links, or a smaller amount of PR5 pages which one would you go with?

Thanks

Yeah what a big surprise right well I'm ranked in 1st on yahoo for a term with 39,300,000 other pages, not bad but I know it doesn't mean all that much.

Just thought I'd shoot the shit and ask what is the most amount of competing pages you've been ranked #1 for.

Nice job buddy...

Best I've done is first page w/ ~2mil, but seo isn't my focus.

Glad to see you dominate it

I had a #2 spot on google last year for "cheap video games" (36,000,000) and "video game store" (100,000,000+).

I dominated msn's searches for those same terms (like 3-4 entries on page 1), but there were far less results.

I think smaxor is right about the results not being that big of a 'difficulty factor', but it is kind of an ego booster.

right now, for one of my directories, I'm ranked for almost every suburb AND the major city name of my niche, which is really driving some traffic.... so I'd try to focus on city names on top of your keyword if you're not already doing that.

EDIT:
lol I went to wayback and found the page that was ranked: gamexperiment.com

good times.

that's one domain I wish I hadn't let slip....

Ha you got me. I edited the sales out of my post because afterward I thought maybe I was bragging too much. Oh well. I hope it shows people what can be done with so little.

I currently rank #4 for a generic one word search with 76m results, brings in around 7k uniques a day.
