Just curious to see what everyone else thinks but I just came across this website which was covered with affiliate products and it simply said join now for free, click on ads, wait 30 seconds earn points and re-deem those points at the end of each month for real cash.
What they are doing is simply getting people to click on the affiliate products that interest them (Tons and tons of them), then a timer counts down from 30 which is shown in the top screen, the bottom screen is an iFrame with the affiliate site, now after 30 seconds the user gets there points (5 - I believe).
At the end of each month they tally up how much they earned from affiliate sales and distribute the cash among people who have reached a point goal, its paid through PayPal and its not much considering its only in the range of 1.25 for 1000 points.
They've got over 10,000 members as well so I found all this out by having a close look at there site and they don't say much of what I said here they leave a ton of shit out but anyone with half a brain can tell exactly what they are doing.
Think about some numbers though 10,000 members lets say 20% are active each month, so thats 2,000 active members and out of those 2,000 lets say 10% buy something each month, so thats 200 sales, now lets say they get an average of $20 per sale (Looks about right based upon there ads).
So there making $4,000 each month and only paying out maybe $200 of that at most to there users. Of course those numbers are just a guess and they could be making a lot more or a lot less but still they've got to be turning a profit.
I've though about a similar idea a long time ago but thought it was shady enough to cause advertisers to complain so I never followed through on it. What do you all think about this?
EDIT: More News I just found out this site is only 3 months old.
