Reccomend Me a Decent Tablet PC

Let me know of a decent tablet PC that is available now. I need to get one this weekend. I was researching on the Archos 9 but reports say that its quite unresponsive. I dont want to pick up a chinese rip-off and I am not an Apple enthusiast. Let me know the real deal. I would preferably like somehting with windows xp, 7 or ubuntu. I kind of despise android but still open to it. Let me know if you have something in mind.
 


Just save yourself the trouble and get an iPad. It's the only Apple product I would ever own (and I do) and it's the only Apple product I would ever defend. I'm probably on mine 5+ hours a day.
 
The ipad is great. But, if you are going to be doing a lot of typing get an external keyboard.

I dont know guys. I have never been fond of Apple products. There has to be something in the market that is capable of matching up to my needs. Any idea when the fuck will the Notion Ink be available?

Do yourself a favor and check out Craigslist. There are tons of people getting rid of their Ipads for insanely cheap prices. Now why do you think that could be? Maybe because they're useless pieces of underpowered shit that are a pain in the ass to use. There are people that like them, but tons of people buy them and then have second thoughts. They seem pretty slick in the store, but you can't really tell how they'll be until you're forced to actually do some work on them when you're in a pinch and need to use them for a serious project. This is why I'd never give up my laptop. A nice propped up HD screen and a full sized keyboard that I can actually type on....why anyone settles for anything less is beyond me. Hell, I don't even like using my laptop though. I prefer my super fast desktop and my nice big 24" screen. When I get my 30" screen I'll like it even more.

The point is that the iPad isn't supposed to be used for a 'serious project'.. it's at most a device to play some games, look at photos, browse the net, or read some books. AKA, to 'chill out'. Anyone buying it to replace a laptop is a dumbass, and I love my iPad.
 
Honestly don't jump the gun. There are way too many tablet pads coming out soon. BlackPad (blackberry), Palm will have one, Samsung (as well as the other android ones), EEEPad (asus).

Just wait it out man, I know it's tempting. But you'll get more bang for the buck
 
I'd wait it out too. The Christmas shopping season will be upon us in no time, and then you'll be able to get an even better deal on that piece of shit you don't really need.
