It's clear that a lot of folks on here to listen to a lot of music when designing/working/etc.

Even though I have a crap load of mp3s, I'm starting to get tired of the same songs playing over and over. I need some new tunes, so this thread is about recommending good music to listen to while working. When you work 12+ hours a day, you're bound to hear the same songs repeated (Winamp shuffle is surprisingly not that great.)

Most of this stuff is rock, off-the-radar less mainstream stuff. I'll usually listen to a band's whole discography throughout the day.

:cool-smiley-008::music06:

Muse Discography (Absolution, Blackholes and Revelations, Hullabaloo, Orgin of Symmetry, Showbiz)

HIM discography (Dark Light, Deep Shadows and Brilliant Highlights, Razor Blade Romance)

OSI - Free (this album is unlike anything you're ever heard.)

Opeth discography (Blackwater Park, Damnation, Deliverance, Ghost Reveries, Morningrise, My Arms Your Hearse, Orchid, Still Life)

dredg discography (el cielo, Catch Without Arms, Leitmotif, Orph)

I stream radio stations to keep a good variety of music playing. A good resource is Radio-Locator.

Some of my favs are:

bigupradio.com (reggae)
bassdrive.com (techno)
radio1190.com (college/indie)
weenradio.com (be afraid...be very afraid)

Man, my music when I'm working varies so much you wouldn't even believe.

If I feel really motivated and want to get a lot done in a short amount of time, I'll turn on some rap music from like Lil' Wayne or something similar.

If I'm in for a bunch of bitch work and just want to stay awake, I'll blast some trance or techno.

And for anytime else, I'll toss on some Coldplay or Red Hot Chili Peppers.
