Eli, that was like convincing enough for me to go up and vote for the guy, had I been an American, which I am not. I mean this man is just awesome.

Isn't he more like the ideal president. Something that you could only dream of ?

Even I was intrigued by the Ron Paul hype going around and used to wonder what it is all about, today your post made me realise why the craze went about.

Just the word 'incorruptible' strikes me again and again! There are a very few people alive these days who can boast of such a past and being incorruptible, and this guy is one of em.

I will research more on him laters today.

If all this is true, America must be proud of such a president.

Obama really isnt a great candidate. Just imagine if that same person was white, would anyone listen to him? He is the token black candidate. And that might sound racist but that is what he is whether he knows it or not.He has only been in Washington a few years. Before that he was a state senator. Most state senators are not very internationally savvy. His comments about forcefully invading Pakistan show how little he knows about our allies and how you make them happy. And the week before that he was talking about coddling our supposed enemies. Not that I think we should invade them but doesnt he know the difference between friendly countries and non-friendly?And the things that are bad about Ron Paul at least he understands the other side, the rest seem not to care.

Wow, that video on Money and Debt is shocking...

its time for the United States to wake up before its destroyed from the inside out.

I'm incredibly passionate for Ron Paul... I've gotten about 7 other people I know to become passionate about him... so im spreading the word before its too late.

Official WF Political Scoreboard:

Ron Paul - 456367567467457567567
Obama - 1
Clinton - -4235346536
Rudy - 3

Carry on.

While Ron Paul may have a handicap as a Republican, Hillary has a handicap in Bill. Too many people remember his issues and don't believe he won't have an influence in the White House if she is elected.

Also, many Republicans (like me) are disenchanted (to put it kindly) with Bush but feel that a great candidate like Ron Paul can bring the party back to what it should be. When I chose to be a Republican it wasn't based on Bush's type of politics. I'm voting for Ron.

I'm voting for Clinton. hahahahaha.

(I have to, I just bought thefirstgentleman.net heh)

@eli:

I personally think gays should be able to get married and my christian moral judgement isn't any more keen than a gay persons to a capacity of having the right to make that decision for them.

Are you saying that your 'moral' christian background has you at odds with what you personally believe?

But I think it should be left up to a local state level because that is where the marraige certificate comes from. Never from a federal level.

I disagree, because you'd end up with a very segregated U.S. Liberal states would allow gay marriage, conservative states would not. This is a good example where the government can actually step in and say that ALL marriages are legal, i.e. a civil-union between two individuals.

Now, if the church wants to designate it's own definition of marriage, that's fine. But then the church should come up with it's own definition of marriage; marriage is currently looked at as both a legal and religious definition. We need to separate the two concepts.

I don't understand the "it should be left up to the state" argument. Which I personally think is just a way to side step the hot buttons. Why should the issue of gay marriage be left up to the state? They said the same thing for desegregation too. The Southern states were PISSED that the federal government was interfering in what they believed to be an issue with the state.

I think it's pretty clear actually. Article Four of the Federal Constitution clearly says:
"Full Faith and Credit shall be given in each State to the public Acts, Records, and judicial Proceedings of every other State. And the Congress may by general Laws prescribe the Manner in which such Acts, Records and Proceedings shall be proved, and the Effect thereof.

Clause 1: The Citizens of each State shall be entitled to all Privileges and Immunities of Citizens in the several States."

How can the state deny any citizen the right to marry, when it's right there in the constitution?

Most people refuse to acknowledge how widespread corruption is in the US government. That Ron Paul doesn't seem to care what any special interests say make him a particular attractive candidate. He certainly isn't just making bullshit up to get elected -- Giuliani, Hillary, Romney -- its laughable how transparent their pandering and popularism is. But hey, this is what works and why they are the top candidates. Its the same type of thing you have to do in sales.

May be Obama appears to actually believe what he says, but his ideas are horrible. Raise corporate tax rates as the US goes into a recession and Europe already has way lower corporate tax rates? hahah, good luck.

Heh, it's kind of funny to me actually. I woke up today and the first thing I saw on television was Hillary Clinton on 'The View'. Sure enough being the female candidate on a female dominated show, it seemed as if she had every single woman hanging on every one of her words (which realistically is untrue). Later on I saw a re-run, I guess it was, of 'The Tyra Banks show' with the guest being none other than Barack Obama, the black candidate on one of the black television shows. I do hate to see things separated in terms of sex/race but if it stands out it stands out.

As I watched, I began to wonder......in the national spotlight, who the hell represents Ron Paul. What show could the people of America depend on to advocate for him. I mean sure he made appearances on The Daily Show, CNN, The Colbert Report, etc... but I don't think any of those shows really put themselves behind the guy as extra support. I mean I can understand trying to be somewhat detached from politics, but I feel that there is a duty to find the diamond in the ruff, weeding through all of the bullshit. Ron Paul, to me, is that diamond in the ruff. I just feel as though, seeing how he actually has an honest message, he should be allowed the same publicity, if not more, to counter all of the....bullshit.

He has an internet fanbase and thats great, but I do believe that a lot of people still depend on the television as well as print media for their information. Both of which aren't necessarily fond of Dr. Paul (which is beyond my understanding).

I mean shit...I live in NY and I'm a bit angry to know that the state will probably go to Hillary, and if not her, then Rudy (amongst Republicans).

With Ron Paul receiving such little spotlight, it makes me really wonder about the intelligence of the American people. I'm ashamed at the willingness to be 'sold' to he/she who appears more often in the media.

It makes me wonder sometimes and I'm driven further to believe, in comparison, that if there was a second coming of 'Christ', he would probably be crucified again. I mean it more in a symbolic way than I do literally.

I'm not a U.S. citizen But I have always had a benign interest in U.S. politics. What I find particularly interesting about Ron Paul is that for the most part he seems to broadly base his ideas on the U.S. Constitution.

The only trouble with that is a lot of Americans have become so used to "acceptable" levels of corruption and pandering to vested interests in their politicians that their first inclination when presented with a candidate who reflects their own Constitution is to presume that he must be a little crazy.

I don't really think he has much of a chance of getting nominated but by shining a light on how far away from the Constitution most mainstream politicians have strayed I feel he is providing a truly excellent public service.

Politics aside, when it comes time to swear in the next president and vp,

Ron Paul = Snakes on a Plane

Lots of internet hype, but not enough mainstream support.
