Newbie question - I want to move the stuff I run on my PCs onto an online Windows server for a number of reasons (e.g. I travel a lot). I run normal windows apps such as:

winautomation jobs
ebot studio jobs
megapinger
a windows based rank checker
etc

I had a look at some providers such as Rackspace etc. Does anyone have any experience to share? Can anyone recommend good providers?

You're looking for a Windows VPS. I know there are a half dozen guys here at least who use one.

Hopefully some of them chime in.

There's a few people who can set you up in the BST section here. I think barefootsies or mrpatel have probably the best prices depending on what you plan to use them for. Barefootsies doesn't let you spam or run xrummer I think, Mrpatel does.

Essentially, any Windows server will let you use Remote Desktop to access the server and use it just like you would your computer. It's the connection that lets you access the GUI. Nothing is needed on your part.

Quick suggestion: back up your data and/or do not store sensitive stuff up there in the big bad "cloud" I would also get a server that is close to your primary internet. Do a traceroute from your home/work/whatever to the server you are going to be using. At least that is what I would do... Good luck.
