Ok so the current theories here are:
1) Evil shit, massive coverup, etc
2) Vimeo is broken
3) Someone at Vimeo is fucking with everyone

I would like to propose my own theory that this video was actually created by Stanley Kubrick in 1998.
EDIT: nvm UG is correct, on Vimeo you can replace the video file of an upload and still retain all the data (including original upload date). I still think Kubrick had a hand in this, though.

When it comes down to things like this, you have two choices. Assimilate or Accommodate. You can make a new filing drawer for conspiracies and the possibility of distrusting authority and expanding your idea of what humanity is capable of, which would be accommodating. Or you can assimilate by rationalizing the hundred ways this is invalid, there by allowing it to be neatly filed into your preconceived folders.
I'm not on any side on this and haven't looked into it at all. The largest part of me suspects it was just a nutbag with a gun. But then again, I know that absolute power corrupts, and I know about the Holocaust (... or do I !?!??! DUN DUN DUNNNN). I mean, there is the part of me that thinks Stanley Kubrick was privy to some illuminati occult shit, and that Nasa is bullshit, and that Arthur C. Clarke tried to blow the whistle tons of times at talks and in his books. I also have my questions about 9/11. I also suspect Clarkey has a 9 inch cock. All of these things are pretty outlandish, but oftentimes reality is stranger than fiction, and there are certainly hidden cabals that seek to make ritual sacrifices and dumb shit based on old beliefs. His channel is massive LOL because whenever someone tries to challenge him, he deletes their comments. In this case he probably realized he fucked up and took down the video.
