Screw my life..... Food Poisoning... eggs

You know egss are like $3 a dozen right? It's not like throwing out a sketchy steak.

I always touch all the eggs with my hand and make sure they move in the carton. I buy organic eggs from costco. If the egg moves you know there is no dried egg yolk on the bottom, and its easy to see that the shell is not broken on the top. DONT EVER EVER FUCKING MOTHER EVER EAT EGGS WITH A BROKEN SHELL DUDE WTFFFF!!!! Also if meat tastes even a little bit weird I wont eat it. If chicken smells or tastes weird I wont eat it. I got horrible fucking food poisoning from oriental house because I ate some weird tasting steak. Never again, I'm super cautious. Good luck with your recovery drink a fuck ton of water and get some of this stuff

I seriously went through this last week. I think it may have been eggs but I was feeling weird just a bit before eating them. I dun goofed and waited too long and ended up having to go to the ER. Brb throw up every time i put something down my throat. brb throw up gravol before it gets digested.

Drink lots of water and Gatorade, I was pounding Gatorade in the gallons,

I had egg poisoning few weeks ago, it was all bad, it was expired and I forgot to look at the date, I was doing Gatorade, water and Vitamin C 1000MG

Damn dude, funny reading this. Friday evening I went out to get some sushi at a rather ritzy joint. I ordered a little but more sashimi than usual, but nothing extravagant. Enjoyed the hell out of the meal, then asked for the check. As I was waiting I suddenly felt my heart start racing and felt like I might puke. (I hardly ever puke as well).

I headed to the bathroom and stood there for a second. I calmed down for a bit, knocked it off as a small panic attack and left. I started walking down the street thinking I needed to calm my stomach, but after a 100 yards or so I had to stop and just sit down for a minute. At this point I decided it's time to head home instead of going to my favorite bar, so I hoped on a motorbike taxi and began on my way. The entire time on the back I was holding down what felt like puke, even had my lower lip quivering because of it.

I made it to my condo, ran to the bathroom, and just started dry heaving. I couldn't actually throw up. I felt like absolute shit that entire night, not just nausea but the feeling of being on the verge of throwing up. The only thing that made me feel better was what I assume were endorphins being released from dry heaving. I then took some Xanax to relax and went to sleep.

Sure enough Saturday morning, to my fear, I woke up feeling like absolute shit still. I then decided it was time to take Ciprofloxacin that was given to me for travelers sickness. I think it's helping, it's now Sunday and feel much better, but I still get queezy when I eat.

Shit is no joke, pure misery.

Nothing you can do to get "over this", as this is your bidy trying to get rid of the shit you ate.

Gatorade, lots of water help your body by providing the minerals and fluids you are losing, but do shit all to get rid of the cause (again, this is what your body is fluishing)

However, if this persists for more than a few days, see a doctor.

I eat slightly cracked eggs all the time. If the membrane isn't broken, then you have nothing to worry about as long as you cook them right. I'm guessing the OP likes his eggs runny and there you have a recipe for salmonella poisoning. It could happen with an uncracked egg too.

Eggs in Spain aren't washed and they don't refrigerate them in the stores. You get them in the cartons and they have bird shit and feathers stuck to them. No big deal, I give them a quick rinse before I use them. I keep them in the fridge once I get them home and they'll last at least two weeks past the expiry.

How do you dissolve oxygen?

OP, how to tell if eggs are bad: check the shell, then put them in a glass of water, if they sink to the bottom, it's all good, if they float, they're bad. Warm water is the best option, as it makes them easier to cook with, just make sure you do it right before you're about to use them.

Eggs that float aren't bad. It just means they are a bit older. Eggs that float make much easier to peel hard boiled eggs.

thanks for the advice on drinking water

by the end of last night i was pretty comofrtable after chugging a few cups.. pissing a couple of times......... . had some small sips of Simply limeade

then... eased to toast with some strawberry preserves on it

after that stayed down.. no problems... kept drinking water.... then progressed to a whole white potato... that usually will absorb the imbalanced acid in stomach...

follow that by by eating some chicken... and another potato

slept well ! knocked out during 'Ninja: Shadow of a Tear'

I sweated like crazy though last night...... which was obviously my body detoxing......... i was actually cold but sweating super heavy

Feel back to normal now.

Thanks to everybody that dropped some knowledge in this post

Yes they are, it means hydrogen sulfide's being produced. (assuming we're not talking about floating once you're boiling them) I've kept eggs from the supermarket for months without them floating, how long are you leaving yours?

I don't know about the floating part. I've never seen an egg I've boiled, no matter how old, float... but what he says about older eggs making better, more easily peelable, hard boiled eggs is true.

I eat raw eggs daily but I stay away from any cracks. No one ever told me, it just seemed right..
That's like buying a canned good with an open lid.
