Hi all,

Soon I will be selling webcams from my webcam/myspace-esque community site, and although I'm well ahead while developing the webshop, I haven't really checked out the online merchants that I'll need to hook up with to take people's details!

Can anyone recommend a good merchant to me?
I've developed for worldpay before, but I'm just wondering what else is out there?
Doesn't google have a system for this? I assume that would be easy to use?

Also...

Is anyone here vaguely interested in hooking up as an affiliate for selling these fuckers? :)

Thanks,

Let me know

Chris

I've never used it but my friend uses zen-cart.com and apparently it's a really good open source ecommerce solution that you can customize.

Interested to hear what you use and how it works for you. Report back if you can!

Goodluck

thanks jucify and trigatch4!

I'm actually coding my own webshop, can't really stand that 3rd party bullshit, and I don't think it will be too difficult to code my own.

I was actually asking about the merchant, who should I use to take the payments?

I suppose alot of people here are out to make money on the internet, so I'm quite surprised by the lack of response to this query, I guess I'll start a thread about merchants elsewhere here?

sebastya, PM sent ;) thanks

Merchant Account

I've had good luck with PayPal. $20/month ain't bad to accept most major credit cards and the customer never knows it's PayPal.

Anyone doing Google Checkout? Right now with adwords for every $1 you spend you get $10 free processing, plus that little icon on your ads.

Yeah that's old news. I don't see it around all that often, but I was considering them over a merchant account for my subscription sites, but then again, why lose out on the merchant account flexibility and data vs a google gateway. Just doesn't make much business sense to me right now.

Good thread hijack though ;)

I use Adwords. Pretty sick. My paid clicks are basically free now. Im going to keep increasing my advertising to break even points. Maybe a good idea would be to pay people to do adwords for you, if they are using Google Checkout, but not Adwords. I think most people do though.
