SEO Contests

What do they really prove. They start everybody at a level playing field with no established competitors. I'd like to see an SEO contest in a somewhat competitive niche that already has some significantly established competitors. That is what most of us are trying to do, outrank an existing website, not start a drag race against a bunch of other SEOs.

Yep. There's a contest being held in my country for SEO. LOL No way will I join. I don't want my methods PIMPED.

If I could only be an expert in one aspect of websites (design, programming, whatever)... it'd be seo without a doubt.

I'd like to see more SEO discussion around here as well. I think it'd be great for Jon to add an SEO forum and get one of his SEO pro buddies to moderate it to get some good threads goin'.

Yep. Much of that CHEAP but high quality content comes from us Double edited. Checked against the web for originality

Yeah, I'd like to see that too. It's tough because the best tricks are going to be things that people aren't going to want to share though, I don't know how you get around that. Maybe the premium section?

Just on the time basis involved in winning, you would lthink could be better spent in working on profit making sites. but then some people like their egos massaged.
