Anyone know much about this?

I've got a Linode and Im looking for server hardening ideas and ways to protect it and monitor it outside of what Linode provides now.

I am feeling it might be easier to hire someone to do this part time when I have an issue or need something then looking up guides and trying and failing until I get it right.

Any ideas?

Hire someone. Normally cost $100-$200.
Web Hosting Talk has reviews/discussions on these companies in great detail.

Keep in mind it doesn't matter how badass your security is if you don't keep the software updated when exploits are found. This in itself is time consuming, and often needs done multiple times per-month to stay up to date, and as secure as possible. This can be anything from keeping apache updated to keeping WordPress updated.

ConfigServer Security & Firewall is a good start.

Unfortunately due to software updates you can't do this, then 'image' and deploy as needed with a new safe node. Just remember to update software once your security/configs are in place, and you have your image... 50% time saving better than 0 :)
