So I do some corporate SEO, PPC, and Social things for clients. Typically bill a certain amount a month and then I do what they want or what I think is a good idea.

I ask if they would like a Twitter account. They say yes. I give a rundown of what I will do and they say great.

I start it with a good name, description, links, custom background I made. I follow people typing in their keywords. Looking for leads. Add about 50 peepz. I post very good SEO'd posts on their keywords. I am getting RT'd and everything.

I want to make the account look more successful so I follow 400 people located in their cities covered and that are family friendly, dont post too much, and are not spammers. People in the know and connected.

It took and I bill 4 hours total.

Hand it off to the client. They say they are happy, they start posting but what they write is not as SEO'd as my posts. Whatever.

Then a few days later they decide that their front page is too busy and they spend the next 3 hours unfriending almost everyone but who they personally know. MOther Fucxker@@#@$

Then they decide to email me to tell me not to follow anyone else and this is the first time I have heard about their mass unfollowing. They were at 450 following and 390 followers. A few hours later and now it is 49 following and 360 already as 30 have unfollowed already.

Plus who the hell would follow a corporate twitter that does not follow back?

Clients fucking suck.

I used to work for a company doing their ppc and seo etc.

One day, the ceo (without my knowledge) tells one of the coders to modify the site by using the exact landing page, except replace our city name with another city's name. Oh, and do that for this list of 20,000 cities. Because "that's how you rank for "our keyword" + "city name"

Hello New York, this is our site...
Hello Los Angeles, this is our site...
Hello Seattle, this is our site...

It goes live with 20k new pages....

about exactly 1 year ago i stopped working with clients all together. best decision i hve ever made.

It's at 49 and 306 following. Dropped 90 followers in 4 hours with hours of work.

Good work VP of Marketing dipshit.

looks sad, but I wouldn't give up, in such a big community as twitter you will get your reputation back easily.

I would also recommend to change you Twitter password and not to give it to your client. LOL ;)

The best way to fuck up anything online is to put it in front of a "marketing department"

Down to 299 followers.

I wonder what will become of this with this client.

Probably will yell at me for not warning him to unfollow 400 people in a day on a "social network" and something bad might happen.

I run 3 corporate twitter accounts for clients... and yes they CAN fuck it up.

Our company is running 40% cash flow from clients and 60% from our own sites... Our goal is to be 100% self sustained and up our hourly consulting rate to $250hr (so we can price out the bad clients).

Drake, you totally fucked up.

I would have billed them for 5 hours.

And spent 1 hour explaining that they want more followers, and that they can't treat Twitter like their personal page.
