Sex.com to be sold at foreclosure auction

7 figures, maybe even 8 - it was bought for (allegedly) $14m about 4 years ago. Porn.com sold for $9.5m a couple of years ago

iuno..few years ago it might worth 8 digit..but nowadays ppl know where to find their porn( youtube like porn site, forum etc etc) they don't type the word sex into their address bar no more

Agreed.

If this fetches 10 mil + again it would be very surprising.

Only a couple companies I can think of that would invest in this near those prices. Cams.com/Adultfriendfinder would be my first guess.

Potentially a domain investor, but there is only a handful that I could think of at that level and it would have to be a really sweet price.

Who cares if they spend 10 mil.... If they have that kind of money, they more than likely know what they are doing. They will make that money back in no time.

6 figures?? waaay higher than that.

Porn.com sold for $9m+ a few years ago and Sex.com has a much broader appeal (yes these were during better economic times but top .com's still sell fetch high premiums)

yeah im thinking 7.

then again, this name has been through a lot. it's like buying a house in amityville

Gary Kremen I think owned/owns it, I talked to him on the phone once about doing coding work, very uppity / high strung out sounding guy.

i dont know who is going to buy sex.com, but what I can tell you is that nick throlson is on godaddy right now purchasing sexdotcomauctionblog.com

I notice the documents actually say www dot sex.com I suppose theoretically they could shaft the buyer and just give them the subdomain. I won't be handing over my $mil escrow cheque until they fix the docs.

Right, thats why the company that bought it for $14m is in foreclosure
