i don't understand why having tags and goals is bogus. please elaborate.

Easy, because I want to track my overall productivity, not tags and individual goals and whatnot.

As it started, I could give each app and site a productivity rating.
In the end, I would get my rating for the day/week/month.

Done.

Now, they tacked on 100 buttons and 3 categories for each...

Sorry, but elegant - this is not anymore.

Read GTD and then Read Making It All Work, or read Making It All Work and THEN read GTD. David Allen FTW.

If you're running a Mac check out OmniFocus and/or The Hit List if you're running PC then I'd recommend MyLifeOrganized.

This is the three things I do -- kinda like a routine -- so I know I'm not fucking around and wasting the day ...

Manufacturer

Manufacturer is to build something. Set up the campaign, set up the opt in page, set up the affiliate program, set up the landing page ... MAKE SOMETHING. (45 minutes work block)

Multiply

Multiply is to bring traffic. Do some PPC, SEO, write a viral report, upload shit in torrent files, article marketing, whatever what the fuck ever. (45 minutes work block)

Maximize

Maximize is upping the conversion. Split test, proof read your landing page, send multiple emails to opt in list for that one offer, whatever. Etc. (45 minutes work block)

No Cammy? She's all about the arse.

Speaking of games, I've found that using game time strictly as a reward is a great incentive.
i.e. If I make a certain amount that day, I get a certain amount of time playing. If I get a certain task done, I get another 20 minutes, etc.
This is more easily done with a partner who'll kick you off the comp when the time's up, or by getting a timer app that'll give you a warning and then kill the game on you when your time's up.
