Depends on the defacer. Most of the people doing it just try to deface as many pages as they can, like taggers with spray paint. That said you tend to find the people targeting specific sites put a lot more thought into the messages they leave and can sometimes be quite creative. Though, its certainly the exception.

A) Shoemoney is a fan of Lost and the graphics are based on the tv show.
B) I've never seen a hacked website with decent graphics.
