silver

thats cool...maybe we can discuss stock screening strategies...with the vix being all wacky the past few years...i have confined my trades to the same basket i started with (iwm, rut, ndx, spy, dia for the indices) and aapl, goog, stra, rimm, vlo, fto (plus 2 or 3 others) on the individual stock side.

since u said u get geeky...i assume ur a technical guy and i could definitely sharpen my sword in that area...i mainly use historical price/vol, IV, vol skews, the news to enter a trade and manage by the greeks from there.

Yeah, well..... as much as I love the stuff it pains me to think of it all because I, well, lets just say I am an idiot and had a business partner run away with everything. e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g.

So, for the time being I am out of cash with nothing to invest.

For options trades I used a combination of technical and common sense mostly with some sort of straddle/hedge so I would come out good either way. Investing so you win if it moves either way worked well for me - as long as you work with volatility. I would always die when there was no movement. Even deep in the money puts and calls almost to $0.00 premium worked well. Sell the call against the LEAP - good stuff too.

shit...i would love a market with no movement...then all ur delta neutral trades would be a hit...i would sell double diagonals, butterflies, and Iron condors by the ton!

Im speaking with a gentleman now about doing some covered LEAPS...i understand how they work, but im just not too sure on how profitable they would be...especially if u paid a grip for the LEAP.

sorry to hear about the bad partner...i've taken some pretty bad losses this past year as well (mostly real estate related - being a landlord sux ass!) but when u have the knowledge it easy to bounce back.

For those that are interested...heres a dude that made a fucking killing on silver with options this past week

As an investor im in on physical silver for the long term, and as a potential hedge against upcoming inflation.

But electronically trade-wise, just grinding it out, up 'n down.

Follow the flow...Feel the Deal.

When people get greedy you know its soon over..... POP! goes the bubble...

When people get fearful, get your wellies on and get grinding :ak:

what do you think gold and silver are? greedy fucking bubbles you moron.

But when I got in, they werent 'greedy fucking bubbles' you muppet.

Its the morons that are filling my pockets.

I'll admit i finally ditched SLV for ZSL this morning. Made 20 stacks on SLV and already made a handful on ZSL. lolmoney

Nice. Silver was down big again today. The amount of speculation in that market is insane. I wouldn't be surprised to see it continue to fall over the short term.

I haven't touched commodities. So much speculation, just seems like gambling to me if you are only holding on to it for a few days or less.

Also, I keep hearing about the exchange raising margin requirements multiple times. That isn't good at all for silver bulls at the moment.

the dollar is "cheap" because soon itll be worthless, learn2knowtheeffectsofprintingmoreandmoremoney

all these dudes predicting doom and gloom for the dollar crack me up...u would give ur right pinky finger for 100m of those worthless notes right now...and they still can buy some of the coolest shit on the earth from the coolest country on earth: America!!

Today the WSJ reported that George Soros sold his Silver because Silver is a bubble.

I've not been following this thread too closely but every time I saw a post I thought that it was funny because an Internet marketing forum was talking about buying silver (sort of a classic bubble indicator).

This thread has gotten really quite lol.
