Anyone remember the box.sk network?

Yeah, that was the shit for serialz.

I also used to visit stileproject. I decided one day that I'd seen enough gross / obscene shit to last a lifetime, so stopped.

I used to love the stuff that Fravia posted about reverse engineering software at Fravia+ R.I.P.. Just checked back and sadly he died back in 2009. RIP, he has a great site.

Also lots of hacking sites - that was my main interest back in the day.

igl.net - Back in '97, this was the ladder for most online games, including Close Combat 2 which took up way too much of my time.

homestead.com, I believe they had the whole drop&drag interface before geocities.
robouk, can't remember URL, probably offline.
b0g.org
coolhomepages.com

yahoo news
gameinformer.com
kazaa
scour.net (I think it was called)
kotaku.com (before the redesign)
realultimatepower.net

A thing called friendsreunited was massive in the UK, years before Facebook - it was the first "social network" that was really famous in the UK (before they were called that). The founders started in a spare room, and sold it to ITV for £125M.

Unfortunately ITV fucked it up, and nobody uses it any more.

Anyone remember the box.sk network?

packetstorm - was an amazing source of information. wish i directed my energiez elsewhere

geocities (i still remember my first URL www.geocities.com/sunsetstrip/6925) you had your own neighborhood...this is back before it was owned by (yahoo?) and they would actually host you without ad support. then came ads. then "frames". then popups. then toolbars.

attrition.org

Still remember the first time I discovered the best page in the universe and all of the kid's drawings, LOL.

Other than what's mentioned, suprnova.org came to mind for some reason

37.com
Tripod.com
Tiava.com
Mapquest.com
FurniturePorn.com (I remember my computer teacher seeing porn in the URL and scrolling down to see what I was looking at so he can "catch" me) Those were the days...

Not sure if it follows the theme of the thread but I used to spend a lot of time on forums.somehingawful.com. Keeping up on that forum due to sheer sheer amount of posts is like having a part time job.

xoom.com when it offered free hosting
stileproject.com
Orcale of Bacon (cant remember URL, Google it)
