So, I hear you like case studies...

Prove it, rank something for the most basic of terms using sig links from here. (although something with just enough competition so purely being indexed would get it ranked.) Things that have been ranked on here in the past have all been internal pages.

100% serious!

That's why I asked for them, because they are nofollow and don't provide any ranking benefit whatsoever, which is why we've never been able to use WF sig links to rank threads for people's names, or places like Albany Plantation, ever.

Jesus, no wonder there is so much misunderstanding about how SEO works, even when it's happening right in front of people, they fail to notice.
As I said, external sig links are nofollow and redirected. Internal sig links are dofollow.

Prove me wrong. Give me a low competition term and an URL, and I'll even help to prove myself wrong.

Despite frittering too much time away on here over the past few weeks and now somewhat behind, I'd be very happy to contribute. Have a solid design team I can throw some work at if needed.

I would contribute some content, but I'm rubbish when it comes to war instruments. However, I would like to suggest, given the nature of the project, that we get a teacher and a firefighter onboard and armed to the hilt to keep us all safe. ;)

(also my editorial content would be somewhat saturated in sarcasm).

I'm all for sending love to a Pro-gun association, but let us not forget that the NRA was a huge Romney donor, while the GoA donated to & endorsed Ron Paul.

The NRA strikes me as a bunch of power-hungry bureaucrats these days. Plz consider promoting the GoA instead. (The #2 Gun owners association)

I say we back these guys and use the racist/anti-semite card against anyone who gives any push back.

Hmm, looks like a cool project.

I'm in to make a video, the homepage looks mighty empty without a video, maybe something short and simple invoking some fear of loss?

It's about more than guns, no? It's about freedom? Being able to do what you want? Self determinism?

And more importantly, about how that's being taken away from the individual?

Dunno, we can brainstorm more, but I'll hook up a video :D

I have no interest in side tracking this thread in an NRA vs GOA debate.

Save for substantive evidence against the NRA, supporting the GOA is a political statement in and of itself that may weaken the website's credibility, whereas supporting the NRA is considered the safer default position and does not entail any larger statement than the primary thrust of the site. In other words supporting the NRA is a generic pro-gun stance and supporting the GOA may ostracize you from the mainstream giving the appearance you have an additional agenda.

The NRA spent $23M last year vs the GOA's $1.5M.

Once again, not trying to sidetrack the effort or thread - just my two cents. The discussion should be amongst primary contributors - just food for thought.

NRA vs GOA is a great idea for some content.

If trying to educate the general public is the goal, my own two cents would be not to have site wide ads for any group. Some people will see that and immediately dismiss the site as propaganda. If the idea of the site is more of a "preach to the choir" type of thing, then it makes more sense, but also in that case the choir is already aware of the NRA.

But the choice of what group to support should be obvious for Wickedfire :

All,
My name is Joe Sirochman owner of American Spirit Arms and I wanted to share my recent experience with Bank of America .(which we have been doing business with for over 10 years)…. Everyone is familiar with the latest increase in guns sales , dealers selling out of inventory , Manufacturers back logged for months , large revenue all generated in the last two weeks …. American Spirit Arms is no exception to the overwhelming demand . What we have experienced is that our web site orders have jumped 500 % causing our web site E commerce processing larger Deposits to BANK OF AMERICA ..Well, this through up a huge RED Flag with Bank of America . So they decided to hold the deposits for further review , meaning that the orders/payments that were coming in through the web ,( being paid by the customer and that were shipped out by American Spirit Arms ),the BANK was keeping (UNDER REVIEW )..as you could imagine this made me furious…After countless hours on the phone with BANK OF AMERICA I finally got a Manager in the right department that told me the reason that the deposits were on hold for FURTHER REVIEW …HER EXACT WORDS WERE …
..” WE BELIEVE YOU SHOULD NOT BE SELLING GUNS and PARTS ON THE INTERNET “
…I flipped the F**k Out and told them that they have no right to make up their own new rules and regs..that we are a firearms Manufacturer with all the proper licensing FFL (Federal Firearm license ), SOT and that we follow all Federal and All
States’ rules and regulations on shipping Firearms and parts ..and that we are also Audited by ATF and Homeland
Security on a regular basis … She said that she understands that but that the deposits will be released After they have a
Chance to review and clear them …I told her that This was unacceptable and the those deposits (that were a week old by now ) needed to be released ASAP, that we are a small business and rely on the revenue to run and stay operational.
After that being said another Manager got involved and released one of the deposits (to help out )… So far to date after
Two weeks of sales only 1/3 of collected internet sales have been released ..I am still pissed and looking for another
Bank and options …
I just thought the public should know ..

I will keep everyone posted on new developments ..

Sincerely

Joseph P Sirochman

BOA is one of the worst banks on the planet. They have pulled this shit with me in the past. I would never deposit even 1 shinny red cent with those cocksuckers at Bank of America

Yep. I opened an account with them, deposited a $50,000 cashier's check. They tried to put a hold on it for 2 weeks. A freakin' cashier's check! I got the check back, closed the BOA account, went to Regions, deposited the money and they cleared it right away.
