Loved windows mobile when I first had it on a PDA. Also loved Palm when I had my VERY first PDA.
But both have not improved in the frigging slightest.
The HTC touch is 3* as fast as my first windows mobile phone. Windows Mobile is about HALF as fast now.
Gonna auction it off first chance I get.
@jason407 sadly, no. Switzerland is all out of iPhones. As I said, it is a predicted 1 month wait, at which point I will probably be in Tadjikistan.

That is the funny thing. I always go against apple and its fanboys, so this one earns me some well-deserved jokes by the apple fans in the office. Meh.. but it is just too much fun to poke only the slightest at apple and watch them explode.

I have the first get iPhone. I don't see the need to upgrade to the new one cause I am T-Mobile. The only thing I would gain is GPS and a better camera.
I am not as impressed with the functions of the phone as I am the fluidity of it all. Although I will say using it now for over two months, I am missing the function and could careless about the fluidity.
I am ready to go back to my Motorola A1200 (Ming) Linux phone.

It's also nice to be able to go online and check your email from your phone... oh wait, you don't even use email anymore.

I can hear it now: "I don't need all the bells and whistles of a house like air conditioning and protection from the rain. All I need is a cardboard box to help keep the sun out of my eyes or block the view of me changing clothes from animals."
I ordered one too. I was promised I'd have mine in 3-5 days (which I suppose were business days). If I don't have mine by Friday, I'm going to be pissed.

He did say the unlimited data plan works on whatever they are using now...but the 3G will be faster.

I had Windows Mobile 2003, 2005, and 2006 and after using it for years I can honestly say they're all shit.
I now have an iPhone (the 1st one) and a Blackberry Curve. The iPhone, with all its limitations, is a lot more useful than the Curve.

I still don't understand the hype behind the iPhone.
Is it that it's bringing PDA functions to people at a reasonable price? Or are the majority of people buying it so stupid as to not have known that this shit's been available since 2003?
It's seriously lacking in features, and the only way to get more apps for it is to void the warranty. It's got all those problems johnmatrix listed, and people still go apeshit over it.
I whip out a TyTn2 that is functionally superior in every way except internal HDD capacity and is already 3 years old and people shrug and mention that it's old and therefore not as good... and... ummm... the screen doesn't automatically tilt when you turn it on its side.
How is it that people can't see they're being ripped off!?!?
Oh, has anyone tried the iPhone with some REAL headphones? I'm not talking the shitty phillips white earbuds. I'm talking some heavy duty Koss or Skullcandy headphones that deliver real sound. They sound awful (at leas the 1st gen ones did)!
