U.S. gun-tracing operation let firearms into criminal hands - latimes.com

I'm not much of a conspiracy theorist , but I guess this meets the definition of a 'false flag' op.

The ATF authorized the sales of 1,765 firearms to 'straw' purchasers who they knew were working for cartels to illegally import them to mexico.

These guns were used to kill mexican citizens, mexican officials, mexican policemen, American citizens in Aexico and even American law enforcement officers on the border.

wouldnt be suprised... I help a few nationalists in a few border towns in arizona. We volunteer and fight these scumbags several times a month. Its a fucking joke to not only know that our countries being raped by these people, but that our government is supporting them with this. The country leaders should be convicted of treason and be shot.

This is what happens when part of your budget is literally dedicated to buying arms and weapons for foreign countries.

Half of what the Taliban is using to fight America in Afghanistan they got from the USA when the Russians invaded, and the Iraqi insurgents are using weapons the USA gave them to fight Iran in the 80s.

My first response was " that's it"? I'm also from Texas so 1700 guns does not sweat me one bit.

to what purpose?

The *Idea* was to *track* the guns and figure out who was buying them/selling them and take down a cartel. Unfortunately for them (and this is VERY common knowledge) that the cartels just pick up any Joe Schmoe who isn't a convicted felon and pass a background check. The gun store(s) pleaded with the ATF to reject the applications as they were suspicious the buyers were strawmen , the ATF told them they had to sell them the firearms.

It doesn't take much work to rub off serial numbers on any firearm , just a 50 cent steel file will do just fine, the guns then become 'untraceable' and their whole idea is blown.

This of course is excluding the number of military firearms we sell to the Federales that end up in cartel hands (which is significant by any means). These were sales authorized/handled by a government agency that's supposed to be dealing with domestic issues, not international ones.
