End of the rainbow

It's no different than Digg...
That place is just spammed with bullshit all day long. Funny pics, crazy vids, and no real news. This social media thing is going too far. I think Google is taking the stance that if people recommend it, it must be more valuable and thus superior. Which is shit in my book.

I wouldn't put much stock into anything on Webmaster world, those threads are full of ideas on how the serps work with nothing to back them up. They seem to love to talk about a bunch of fluff pet theories.

No one there holds anyone really accountable for what they say compared to WF so it's just a breeding ground for this type of talk.

Goog's +1 seems to be hitting the right balance... They've said +1 won't directly influence teh SERP position, but under your site on the position it shows you additional Social stuff like which of your fiends like it and how many ppl like it.

Now if only they'd get page Badges out there for +1ing sites they might have a chance to get some marketshare...

There is no way social will ruin search. Is someone going to share the hemmoroid cure on their Facebook page? How about a porn site? How about penis pills? How about dating with asian midget singles? Ok, lets try "normal" niches... How about Joe The Plumber? Who's gonna "like" that except his immediate family?

They might add it to the algo, but it will never beat the power of link juice.

Stop worrying and start building links ftw.
