And yes, very decent of him, I am also sure that the site alone made him 5 times that and he realized that and wanted to give something back, I basically introduced him (free) to everything, he only picked up the hosting and reg fees a year later (and I did not charge him anything, just asked the cost)

true, but most people will not do the right thing if they can get away with it, so it's nice to see someone who does. my great great grandfather defined honour as doing the right thing when no one is looking and without thought of consequence.
