Nice I was jumping around in my flat and everybody came to their balconies and started yelling, so fucking cool :D

Hopp Schwiiz :D

Unbelievable... just unbelievable. What a fucking great game. For the anti-football crowd this is a perfect example of a low scoring game that doesn't tell the whole story. This could easily have been a 6-2 game. I am stunned that the Spaniards couldn't finish.

WTG Switzerland.

Wow.

So true, what a game still can believe it!

Couldn't believe the referee at the end trying desperately to get Spain to score. Penalty kicks, yellow cards, called hand play when the guy was looking the other way, Spaniards just let themselves drop and the Suisse got a penalty..

Haha... this was fun even for a non-soccer watcher like me.

My balls popped when they did the shot to the post... man that hurt. Then again, it is only the beginning.

Spain all the way!

GJ Switzerland, they defended well against one of the best attackers in the world
Next SA vs Uruguay

Was Spain awarded a penalty?

handball is always given even if the offending player has his head up his ass.... although sometimes if its obvious that handling the ball was not intentional then the ref won't give it.

These results are really fucking up my picks on the WF group...

ha same! There's a few games I want to change but I know if I change them they'll probably go against me lol

Tonights game will be entertaining but I predict a lot od Vuvuzelas :(

I think there's a bit of confusion between a free kick and a penalty.

Typically, although not always, a penalty is given where a foul against the attacking team is within the 18-yard area that a goalkeeper is permitted to handle the ball in (aka 'the box'). It's taken from the penalty spot 12 yards from the goal line and it's a 1 on 1 between the goalkeeper and the penalty taker.

Penalty:

A free kick can be given anywhere on the pitch, including in certain cases within the 18 yard goal area. A free kick may be direct or indirect, depending on the infraction. Direct means that a goal may be scored directly from the kick, indirect means it must touch someone else before it crosses the line for a goal to be scored.

A direct free kick:

Same kick, different angle... (happy happy moment :) )

Ah OK.. I meant free kick then. SOrry for the confusion.

Awesome Game, Could have been 3-3 or even more at some points.

My Spanish friends are rip shit and now tearing into Roger Federer as well. jajajaj.

Managed to catch like the last half an hour, will watch the highlights later. The Alonso strike which hit the bar was crazy, typical Alonso shot.

@emp, the free kick for the handball was justified he tried to block the cross, but his hands were in the air. If his hands were down by his waist he wouldn't have touched it.

How the heck do the favorites lose? Yeesh, this is worst than DPR vs Brazil yesterday

You do realise Switzerland are the 24th best International team in the world? Where as DPR are in the 80s?

There not a bad team!
