Hi Guys,

I'd like to know how you manage your emails ( and spam )

  • Do you have several emails addresses for different things?

How do you filter spam?

  • Use server side? client side?
  • Use those webbased things that asks a sending to jump some hoops to make sure he is human?
  • Filter from addressbook?
  • Combination of above?

Please let us know of your solution and, if applicable, with tools, software or service you use. Basically anything that can help a fellow find a solution tailored to his needs

I rarely get mail that I don't want nowadays using Gmail on Thunderbird via imap. Gmail's spam filter is the best I've ever used. I can't remember the last time blatant spam got into my inbox or a real message was marked as spam. For unwanted mail beyond that (newsletters, repetitive alerts, offers from something you signed up for, etc), I use a combination of Gmail's filters which are pretty good and Thunderbird's filters which are even better.
 
how about if u have a domained email? sumtin@urdomain.com

imap is da shit, huh? that been around for like 10 years and only now i start hearing it from commoners. strange

The Gmail team really nails it when killing spam, no other webmail can compete. Just forward all your domain mail to them and youll have no spam and good filtering/labeling
