i have a macbook pro, mac pro, pc based htpc, and a pc desktop.
I can safely say my productivity is 10x higher on the mac os than windows.
The only reason is Spaces and Coda.

I guess im a tranny.

I'm obviously not an MSNBC fan boy, but quite frankly Fox is garbage on a level unrivaled by any American media outlet. I have no problem with some right-wing news sources but there is the intelligent right-wing, and the irreparably misinformed right wing. Fox is largely responsible for the latter. They have managed to surpass simple inaccuracy to develop a sort of disdain for any truth that even vaguely threatens their worldview.

Their 'equality' is summed up by this: On MSNBC Democratic candidates get interviewed. On Fox, Republicans candidates get TV shows.

My point wasn't that it was bad for being left-leaning, it was that because of their bias it has become extremely inaccurate and sensationalizes many stories (especially politically).

CBC is the most corrupt crown-corporation at the federal level and bleeds money. Five years ago the conservatives became very vocal about the amount of money allotted to the CBC being excessive. When the next election, that the conservatives ultimately did end up winning by a slim margin, came around a release was sent to all MPs telling them to get off the CBC talking point because of the negative press they were getting indirectly from CBC themselves on various issues.

The culture at CBC changed drastically over that year and uttering any support for the conservatives off-set was viewed as a negative remark towards CBC. Things haven't changed much since then and many federal ministers still view Stephen Harper's stubborn stance on CBC, and his reluctance to get rid of the CBC talking point, to be the single biggest impediment against the conservatives getting a majority to date.

Again, this applies to CBC at a federal level not to the provincial branches that have different structures. CBC is biased, but it's not a terrible news source. It simply doesn't deserve to be in a category with Al-Jazeera.

I think you're both full of shit and I'm not an apple fan boy in any way shape or form. I design on a PC and the only Apple product around here is a 2nd generation iPod Nano we use in the car.

I fix Apple products for a living iPods, iPhones, etc., our moto is everything Apple is held together by Glue and Tape. I don't own a Mac or an iPhone either, lol. Droid baby! The guy is a marketing genius however, he has produced some of the worlds most desired products and rebuilt an otherwise failing business into a global empire.
 
the best part of apple is the marketing team, and they are pretty amazing. you can't watch tv for more than an hour or a movie without seeing a mac. spending $1500 on a laptop that does the same damn thing as my $350 acer never made sense until i realized it's all about exclusivity and they have mastered the art.

hopefully it's bs, because i think he's an important character in the tech saga and also pancreatic cancer is a horrible way to go, i wouldn't wish that on anyone ever.

Exactly. It's the same thing that makes people stand outside for an hour to get into a club just because there is a line, or pay $200 for a pair of jeans that look and feel the same as a $40 pair, etc.

As a marketer - I love what they're able to do with their brand, but I have zero respect for their fan boys. I own an iPod for the car, and it does the job. I played with the iPad for awhile and realized it might be the stupidest thing I'd ever used. But their restrictive ass software, nazi-like closed system mentality and overall pretentious user base makes me want to punch babies in the face.
