I plan on investing in a few companies within the next 2 years as I see a ton of opportunities coming up.
ie. (Facebook IPO)

I was wondering if there are any veterans here on wickedfire when it comes to investing in the stock market?
If so, what companies will you be buying in the near future ?
What has made you money and what hasn't?

i bought into bank of america and a few other stocks right after the crash in 2008, tripled my investment. was pretty legit. a big fan of them and underarmour

I go back and forth on whether facebook will be a good buy I guess it depends a lot on what valuation they IPO at

I invest mostly in blue chips that have a history of solid returns. ATT and Verizon come to mind.

BP was a good and obvious bet, since they weren't going to disappear because of the spill - and so would HAVE to recover at some point - and a lot of that slump (like many changes in the market) was based on 'emotion' not logic.

But regardless - good call.

same... appl, MA, HON, spdr, ibm, tons of others...

feels good

and also bought 100k of BA at 3 and change.... feels good

shit don't ask me. I lost $800 dollars this year on stocks alone. Quit Investing....can't wait for tax return to get a little relief.

btw my dumbass fooled with penny stocks knowing beforehand I was taking a huge risk.

bought in during the market crash.. picked up shares of Conoco very cheap and made a nice profit. Also went with ATT stock never really moved the way I hoped it would even with record numbers in upgrades, feature add on's, etc. with the launch of the iphone 3GS. but it did give a very nice dividend so hung on to it for awhile.

I'm no expert, but my 2 cents is to make sure to take a look at dividend payouts, response to market trends, and I like to search for good companies that are undervalued. Don't just focus on potential for quick growth if your looking to do more than make a quick buck.

I was a stockbroker at Bear Stearns for 5 years in the early '90's... It soured me on the market.

I have found that I get exponentially better returns investing in myself. FWIW.
