I have a couple ameritrade accounts but am considering trying another broker. Any recommendations? Obviously fast execution is important but good tools and good interface. Oh, and of course cheap trades.:D

I see a lot of new ones I don't recognize. Thinkorswim, zecco, trade king, etc.

Thanks for any advice

Services I use:

Equity option chains: Tradeking

Exchange traded derivatives + Level 2 Access: DAS Trader

FOREX: Oanda (non-dealing desk)

None of those you mentioned are new.

Sogotrade. They usually have the best borrows and $3 trades. Also their parent company is Genesis. Only downside is they really don't have a good trading platform, but I use ThinkorSwim or Etrade Pro for charting then just put my orders through sogo.

Interactive Brokers is extremely good imo. The only problem I have had with them is their trading platform runs on Java which I hate. I think most people use different charting software and then use IB to enter the trades.

I have been using Scottrade...they've been working well for me..

Though I might transfer my assets over to Vanguard since they have the same fees now...then I can have all my brokerage/IRA accounts all in one spot.

i dont day trade but i've used vanguard for my index funds for 5 years or so and they are really really solid.
