Try Matcha green tea - works wonders for stress. Seriously. Try it and thank me later :)
Make sure you get the Japanese stuff. If it's under $20 for a small container it's probably some cheap shit.

Well don't sweat it, sounds like everything will come out peachy with this project so all is good. Just chalk it up to lessons learned - I'm sure next time you will specify detailed server requirements before deploying a new programming project.

And it doesn't take 1 hour to reload a .htaccess file. I'm assuming you're talking about mod_rewrite rules which can be a total bitch to troubleshoot. Try using a tool like wget instead of a web browser, makes it much easier to see whats going on with redirects and such

Why do you have to wait 1 hr for .htaccess??? That's not true at all.

It might not be true on all hosts but on GoDaddy, Fasthosts, and a few others I've worked on if the site is brand new and never before had an .htaccess file on it then it will take 1 hour for it to start taking effect, or about 1 hour, here is what GoDaddy say's about this.

Due to server caching, new .htaccess files may take up to one hour to be recognized. Changes to existing .htaccess files are picked up immediately.

So it doesn't always take an hour but sometimes its better to wait an hour or to test at a half hour and then at an hour to see if its working because if the file is new or a new site then well its a pain because it usually never works right after upload.

It almost seems as if you were getting stressed out for no reason.

I was from lack of sleep or something else haha I don't know its morning now and when I re-read this I think what the fuck was I thinking last night.

Lol I just read that you were struggling with your conversion. This would have been fast sale :P

It is understandable to get stressed out when you need to tell the customer they have problems at their end. Some people are just idiots, and will get pissed at you over it.

Anyways, I personally don't get stressed about this type of stuff when I write scripts and design sites for people. Why? It's not my problem. If you told them that the reason for changing hosts was because you needed permissions to use an .htaccess file and have it run an a Linux/Apache server, then it is not your fault that they turned around and got a Windows based account.

I have a pretty detached personality as well, so things like this just don't get to me.

Good luck.

my suggestion is to put it all in writing and then meet those descriptions... and anything over is extra, that usually solves above 99% of issues.

I take no drugs, unless being addicted to the gym is a drug. Exercise is relaxing, meditative and allows me so sort through my thoughts.

If you have been operating on 5 to 6 hours of sleep over the last 5 years, hopefully you have been eating and living properly. Unless you made some radical change recently you should be cool.

Overreacting might be the case here. Think positively, it should all work out fine. You are hard working, ethical, and you hold yourself to higher standards than others, you will not lose.

In the future, ask yourself better questions to keep from fretting. Keep in mind not to become upset over people or things out of your control or sphere of influence.

In regards to this situation think of ways you can improve your transactions with the customer and keep your stress levels down, make a checklist of things you can do differently to avoid this in the future.
