So I put up a post about a viral linking experiment. I guess I was naive and thought people might actually read my blog post? Anyway, so far, four people have responded to the post, and, as of writing this I've received 10 private messages. Of the sample of 14 people, it seems that only 1 person has their brain switched on.

I really give up, and my study now proves that 93% of DP users are severely retarded.

ahh fuck it, sorry for whining guys. hope this makes up for it...

I thought the post was kind of confusing :\ I mean I know not to pm you and ask for a link, but do they just post which link they want in the comment? I'll post if that's the case ;)

Ok, maybe I'm the retard? I dunno. If I post more softcore porn would that make up for it? :P

Seriously though, all you need to do is copy the section specified in the original blog post, post it on your blog, add your link to one of the words, and send me a ping back.

then choose the anchor text that's related to your site then.

if you don't want it then it's alright. give it to others. :D

Can't you take off the "no follow" tag from the source of your blog (not sure if that's easy to do) and let people know about it, then let everyone post their own comments using their own relevant anchor text.
In exchange, ask them to link back to you.
This way your job is to periodically check that the people are linking back, or you might have a script that does the checking for you.

True, but I guess I was really just experimenting. I was curious to see if something I started could actually take off. Sounds stupid probably, and I guess I'm relying on the honesty system a little to much.

If anyone is interested the original blog post is here.

This WP plugin lets you remove no follow from comments. I posted about it and try to remember to mention it on every post. - Gonna add some big sign or something when I get my theme sorted.

here is something I sometimes do. If you google for the below string:

allintext: E-mail (required - never shown publicly)

and then -search within results- for a word to do with your niche, you will then get a list of a gazillion places where you can post a little comment back to your new site/page/blog.

you can then train a parrot (or pay one) to post little happy messages to all these blogs for you.

here's my questions: does anyone know how to refine the search so that all the blogs that use the "no follow" tag are left out of the results?
