TLDW; symantic nabbed US & Israel for sabotage of Iran's nuclear program by virus .. giving the tech to anyone who wants it to do whatever they want.

Thanks guys.

". giving the tech to anyone who wants it to do whatever they want."

No, not really.

Besides, any nation state can make the same exact virus/botnet/malware for a few hundred thousand dollars / 1-2million (which is nothing to a government).

If you guys want to be a billion dollar company, start an online security firm that actually knows what the fuck they are doing. Enjoy the benefits of blank government checks :)

Well, the code is already out there, makes it easier... Wonder what it's written in and where do you get the code for viruses like these... Would be interesting to see the logic, perhaps can learn a thing or two from the agency written code...

I think the first real use of cyber warfare (when used on the west) would be to use it in conjunction with a terror attack... to disrupt emergency personal getting to some scene.

Or to simply cause confusion, disinformation on the attack.

It slowed down the iran fun and games... but for how long?

More about the concept of how to do it than the code. There are soooooooo many more coders than visionaries. In other words, all you have to do is show that it's possible to run a four minute mile before it's no longer a big deal. Competition compels us, it's part of what makes us human.

Much less painful now that they know why their campaign was losing money. Before they were split testing some landers and got a shit load of corrupt data.

Imagine if it was the work of a real badass and we didn't have a 20/20 episode on it. That could fuck them up for decades.

Stuxnet was C/C++, Duqu was object orient C (not objective-c), Flamer is C/C++ and Lua.

The Hegelian dialectical formula: A (thesis) versus B (anti-thesis) equals C (synthesis).

For example: If (A) my idea of freedom conflicts with (B) your idea of freedom then (C) neither of us can be free until everyone agrees to be a slave.

TL;DR THIS IS BY DESIGN PEOPLE!
