Terrorism comes to Australia

Man you guys got off topic!

New update! https://twitter.com/ABCNews24/status/514914467415851008

About the guy who stabbed the two police officers the other day (the new terrorist) and was shot. Victoria Police have reported on twitter via ABC24 News that they have no evidence that he had any plans to behead anyone. It was reported on major news that he was a known terrorists who was tricked into coming to the police station to be caught. Before they arrested him he went nuts and pulled a knife and attacked the police officers and was shot in front of the police station.

We now have no idea why he was called to the police station or why he attacked the officers. But the news about him planning to abduct the police to behead them was a lie.

The spin machine is in overtime here. Seems Mr.Murdoc owns 2/3rds of the country's news outlets.

I've got a good buddy who lives in Australia.

He's what I'd call a somewhat rational liberal. Meaning he has no problems with gun control, national healthcare, public education, etc. But he's open minded, I've had some philosophical discussions with him about property rights, the role of Government, war, the NAP, taxation, etc - and instead of arguing he was intrigued, asked a ton of questions, it was a great discussion.

One thing he mentioned to me is that "Australian's love their Government". The Aussie Gov does a great job at being perceived as "good" by the people. They just protect them, ensure they have access to healthcare and education and that no one shoots each other.

Curious to see how the Aussie's will react when their Government starts revealing more of their true colors to the public.

Have you ever watched toddler step on a mine? Ever see a what a direct mortar hit on a person looks like from 50 yards away? Ever walk through a densely populated urban area after it was hit with "precision strikes" from countless 2k pound cluster-bombs?

Ever see dozens of bodies stacked up on a runway departing daily for a year straight? Sometimes guys you know?

Ever experienced hell on Earth because you believed the same propaganda bullshit you're spewing right now?

I have.

And it fucking kills me that people still eat this shit up hook, line and sinker.
Ever live through a terrorist attack that killed thousands, among whose number you could count lifelong friends, acquaintances, and business contacts?

I have.

Curiously, this carnage was not preceded by any campaigns of "propaganda bullshit".

Call it a conspiracy of mine, but I think evil people were committing evil acts in the name of an evil ideology - and haven't stopped.

Was that ISIS? Or Syria? Or Iraq?

Should we have carpet bombed Oklahoma after the OKC bombing in 1995?

Yeah, 9/11 was horrible. But it was a criminal act and should have been treated as such.

If Bin Laden masterminded the attack, he accomplished exactly what he wanted...

More than a decade ago, Osama bin Laden appeared in a brief video to speak about several issues. One of them was to advise the Islamic world that they should expect the U.S. military to be defeated by Islam, the Taliban, and its allies in Afghanistan. The other was to suggest that Muslims should be prepared to watch the U.S. government strangle the civil liberties of Americans in the name of prosecuting its war against the Islamist Mujahedin.

And yes, people with evil ideologies are still committing evil today. Just don't be naive enough to believe evil people only exist in the Middle-East.

Yes, it would be much, much easier to deal with the middle east if Israel wasn't involved. We all know the jewish lobby is the strongest in the US and also very strong in Europe. You're not fooling anyone, 9/10 we do something in the middle east it's because of Israel and as a bonus some fat cats grab some oil and sell some guns.

Doesn't change the fact that a large portion of arabs and other middle easterners are absolutely barbaric and savage people and that Islam is a constant threat to its neighbors and have been for thousands of years, no matter if it is India, South East Asia, Africa or Europe. Islam is a savage barbaric cancer on the modern world.

Whatever you do in the middle east, you end up losing. Such as supporting the kurds, who are radical marxists. Or supporting 'rebels' against a dictator who turn into radical islamic fanaticists.

The whole area would be much better off under massive Turkish occupation, the Ottoman empire should have stayed. Or Iranian occupation. Bedouin arabs are some of the least evolved societies in the history of mankind.

Too late to edit into my last post...

And if you think bombing people and invading countries will prevent terrorism I'd beg to differ. It's not hard to recruit violent extremists who hate America when you've got entire generations who've seen nothing but their loved ones being slaughtered by US forces their entire lives.

As with politics in most places, you can't draw conclusions from one person's opinion. I'd argue that a lot of Australian's know exactly what the this Government is trying to pull. The Queensland Government (who just won power back from Labor like in Federal) did the same thing, using bikie gangs as a way to introduce stricter control over people.

Both governments had an unpopular beginning to their terms and it's not uncommon to use fear as a way to deflect attention off their other shortcomings/failures.

You're probably referring to Kurds in Syria and Iraq, but Turkey actually has the most Kurds. Up to 25% of their population is Kurdish.

Or Iranian occupation.

And Iran is #2 for Kurds. Up to 10% of Iranians are Kurdish.

Bedouin arabs are some of the least evolved societies in the history of mankind.

Bedouin Arabs are only a small percent of the Middle East population. About half of them live in Africa.
