Some big news coming out of Thailand. Redshirt, Thailand, and Bangkok are 4th, 5th, and 9th in trends on Twitter. Protesters are going crazy and want the Thai PM out of office. You can google for more info. Here is a live Thai feed showing some very graphic images. True World TV : ASTV News 1

Things like this have happened in Thailand before, but its never gotten this violent. Hospitals are being told to be prepared for casualties to be taken in tonight.

I've never really been this worried for my safety before. Some of the places where the protests are happening are just a couple miles away.

Yes, becoming very unstable over there with Thaksin stirring the pot, even while in exile. Last year I only made it out of Suvarnabhum by 24hrs before the Yellow shirts blockaded. Going to skip Thailand altogether next week and spend my time in Siagon.

Yeah. I'm considering heading to the airport (if I could even make it there) and finding the next flight back to america

Well then hyperion, I suggest you GTFO til the shit settles down or lock down your shit.

agreed, my girlfriend is from thailand and her mom just called yesterday saying it's getting crazy there. Sounds like they're heading for a civil unrest explosion. we were thinking of visiting her family later this year, but at this point, I'd rather fly them all the u.s.

german news channels are saying that those red shirt guys just overtook a government tank... so they're in possession of at least 1 tank now. damn, get the fuck outta there justin

Be smart

Jumping out into the melee right now may not be such a wise choice. I would recommend staying off the streets. If you make an airport run, do it early in the morning when most of the hooligans are asleep.

The U.S. Embassy is on Wireless (withayu) not far from Sukhumvit you might consider talking to those folks first. They got a nice big secure compound there, probably one of the safest places in krung thep right now.

Fuckin Taksin and his red shirt dickheads. If we thought the yellow shirts were crazy and stupid, we haven't seen anything yet.

Looks like another military coup is the only thing thats going to bring stability.

Fuckin Taksin.

Good luck man

Here's a shot of the streets

everyone waiting for someone to tell them what to do next

I was in the area in '92 for the Bangkok massacre

GTFO.
If the air port is impossible to reach, get a ride to Surathani and get over
to Koh Samui. It has an international airport. Just a little out of the way...

WTF is going on over there. 4 Prime Ministers in 15 months?

Dude gtfo of there. I agree with calling the Embassy, at the very least they should be able to get you some good tips on how to get out of the country.

If you decide to stick around go buy a bunch of canned stuff and don't leave your house until you have to.

Treat it like a class 3 zombie outbreak. Stock up on food and water, barricade your entrances, and wait for it to die down.

I just bought my ticket to Japan. Only cost 350 on cheap tickets and I leave in 5 hours. Actually excited as fuck. Always wanted to go. I'll be staying with a friend outside of Tokyo in "countryside town" Chiba.

Should be better than the shit going on here.

Can you even own guns legally in Thailand?

Thailand prohibits possessing firearms, ammunition or explosives without a license. If you're caught with a gun and no license, you may get slapped with a $500 fine and be stuck in a jail cell for one to 10 years. It gets worse. If you have a firearm that isn't legal even with a license, offenders can be sentenced to life imprisonment or capital punishment, i.e. death.

Wow. So its basically better to not have a license, cause at least then you don't run the risk of being killed?
