Last year I got my oxycotin soaked bro-in-law to cold call for my local seo business. our strategy was to call people lingering on page 2 or 3 of the SERPs. he sucked, but my results were already so killer that he doubled my monthly retainers!!
we were cold calling noobs but our strategy was basically like "maam, when he gets a free moment could you show him one quick thing. ask him to google "othercity dentist" that is our client at the top. we can do that for him in your town, guaranteed."
cold calling is a numbers game. if you aren't a pussy you could give yourself a 100% raise overnight! thats what is unbeatable about working for yourself.

But if you have the nerve and the heart, cold calling will put food on your table in a hurry.
I hated cold calling as much as the other guy, but the reality is when business is slow it is the most effective way to drive people in the door.
Then combine it with effective marketing techniques, both online and in real life, and quality service you can turn your fortunes around in a hurry.
