It was a rhetorical question. Thankfully I have a painter doing some work and its a 5 min job for him to put in a new bulb.

I think if you consider the life of the regular low end bulbs, and consider the energy savings, 60 dollars may not be that bad.

I've had CFLs that last less than a month. I'll believe they last 20 years in about 2 decades.
