Reuse some of your content in more than one place on your site, if it makes sense.
My site follows a hierarchical structure inherent to the content, and higher nodes in the hierarchy display some of the content from all of their child nodes. This keeps a lot of intermediate pages from feeling empty, and gives my text to the SEs in many different combinations.

Don't necesarily be new and creative. If you find an idea you like feel free to grab it and make it better.
Even though some asshat spammer (who should die somewhere horribly) restarted this thread, I remember how much I liked the idea... So...
Don't feel to attached to any one idea... If something is not working or not growing leave it alone for awhile and give it some time and space. There's much better things that you can do with your time than try to Resuscitate a dead dog. If it grows over time you can always come back to it, but if it doesn't at least you'll hopefully have other ventures going by then.

Don't spend your time constantly tweaking your design or planning to start your websites. DO IT!
Add to it or redesign it later if you have to. JUST GET STARTED. There are tons of poorly designed sites out there that are making the owners tons of money.

don't stick stuff in your ass, it hurts and is embarrassing to have removed. I don't speak from personal experience but have friends in emergency medicine telling me stories today!
