Hey guys, remember the good old Google Slap. The penalty for low quality score, bad landing page quality, low CTR, with a minimum CPC of $10? Well, according to my source, Facebook is testing this and looks to have it implemented by June.

So Basically, if your CTR is below average for a certain demographic, you will be penalized with a Suggested Bid Price of 10X the normal Suggested bid for that Demographic.

In addition, they cutting hard on too much demographic targeting as well. You are not able to target specific attributes including ages in your ads.

So is it over? Far from no. The advice from my source is to get the best results, target as specific as possible without using profile info in your ad including Age, Religion, Company, Etc.

If you are running generic ads without targeting specific demographics, then get ready for the Facebook Bitch Slap, and if You are giving your target market away in your ad i.e- Catholic Age 23 Girl:, then get ready for a Ban.

I started Affiliate Marketing to get away from "The Man", and I have now realized that "The Man", is everywhere.

None of this is new stuff. That "slap" you see has been around for as long as I have been marketing on FB, and the disapproval of specific attributions has been disallowed for over 1.5 years at least. Muffin Top FTW.

I personally don't think they would incorporate all the elements Google does when deciding on a quality score.

Where's your cited sources for this? I find it hard to believe you won't be able to target ages...

You can target specific ages, but your ad copy cant say "Age 25 - Click Here"

Exactly. You can target whatever you want, but you can't call out your target. Here are more examples:

"Cheap Insurance For Jews"
"Age 25, Free Macbook Pro?"
"Free Ipad for Age 25 Men"

You can't call out your demographics.

This has already been going on for a while, FB doesn't like this have you been sleeping under the wailing wall??

If your only way of monetizing FB is with these "awe" tactics then you are pretty much alone in the failboat

Are you crazy. Facebook ads were CREATED to target as specific as possible. It's they're claim to fame. Deep demographic targeting.

What are your opinions? Would you rather have a 20% Landing page CTR with an $8 EPC, or a 50% Landing Page CTR, and a $2 EPC?
