The Keyboard Speed Thread

I honestly didn't know there was a whole keyboard tech geek subculture. This is new to myself.

I like my keyboard. When I press the buttons, it makes letters & numbers appear on my screen. I'll often do this repeatedly to form words and sentences.

133wpm isn't too hard if you're used to typing fast and give it a couple of gos.
 
I type about just as fast on my flat key laptop keyboard as I do on my mech keyboard. I honestly like them both equally, but for different reasons.

My mech keyboard just feels damn good when I'm typing, it's a satisfying experience. Also, I am more accurate with it because of the way the keys have more travel.

IDK, favorite keyboards is an extremely subjective thing. I'm a huge fan of mine (which is the same as yours, only with mx blues, so it's more clicky). I think everyone should give them a try, simply because the build quality is better than basically everything in your local best buy.

whats so special about a mechanical keyboard? Idk, I'm not a big keyboard fan and I just stick with normal ones.
 
i fail to see how different keyboards can help if you can't even type over 100wpm.. 130wpm is where most computer geeks tend to average from my experience. that's where you'll need the extra performance boost. push yourself first, then worry about your hardware.
 
Need to check my speed but I specifically bought a Lenovo laptop for the keyboard and got one for my desktop too (although spacing is different so not as good).

I have a T410 and I love having the FN/CTRL keys switched, but it messes me up when I use another laptop/keyboard.
 
I can't type without looking because when most kids were in computer class I was behind the school smoking weed with friends. Then I dropped out in 10th grade. I literally never learned how to type like a normal person. That being said, if I am typing words out from my head I can fucking FLY. But if I have to look at something on paper and put it on the computer I am slower than shit rolling up a hill.

I've definitely considered going Dvorak, but I wonder how hard it would be to maintain both in my head. Going and changing the input style everytime i use someone else's computer, plus not having the keys to look at (not that I do now)... I'd like to start giving it a shot. Maybe practicing some online typing games a bit with it.
