In other news, watching Russell Wilson play quarterback is brutal. It's weird because all game I'm wincing at how bad he is and then the game is over and you look at the stats and his numbers are ok. I haven't watched a lot of Seattle this season but the last few games I've seen he's been kinda exposed. I think the one thing he has going for him is he does not make a lot of mistakes - he knows he's on a really talented team and so he let's them do their job. But goddamn I thought he was a lot better last year.

Yeah, I was pulling my hair out watching him do his Fran Tarkenton impression yesterday. I think defenses have figured him out a bit and know his moves when he feels pressured in the pocket, not to mention the bootlegs they run every week. Teams know what to watch for now.

One of the biggest problems is that average O-line of theirs. The pass pro is this team's Achilles heel and I hardly ever see Wilson with a lot of time to throw the ball, hence all the scrambling by him.

But even when the protection breaks down, Wilson often makes the mistake of "running to throw" because he doesn't like to actually run the ball. Trying to be Drew Brees back there is only doing himself a disservice because he's taking away his ability to extend drives by not running the ball himself. Message to Russell Wilson--you don't have the Saints O-line. You have young, inexperienced, offensive linemen who don't do a very good job in pass pro and you need to compensate for this by using your legs to run for first downs in addition to throwing for them. That's who you are.

Until the Hawks draft better players up front or their current lineup becomes better protectors for Wilson, this kid has got to make plays on his own if he expects to keep winning big games.

Another thing he's got is this: Give Wilson 60 minutes of football and there's a decent chance he can pull one of those plays like that absurd scramble-to-Baldwin-for-50yds out of his ass. He's surrounded by enough team to have a play like that be the difference against anyone, including the Broncos.

Should be a good matchup, these two teams deserve to be there. Especially the Broncos - the first few Patriot running plays netting nuthin' pretty much sealed Beli/Brady's fate yesterday. And there I was all set to see to LeG Blount ascend to next-level RB status ... nope.

Even worse is when they have women talking X's and O's on NFL shows. Why would any guy be interested in hearing these twits explain to them the game of football is beyond me.

I'd rather watch girls do it than guys.

I'm still amazed that Chris Collinsworth was such a great receiver in his time, but comes off so beta as a commentator.
