Be honest....

When's the last time you said this?

I don't know about you guys but my 2nd grade teacher would totally open up a can of whip-ass if we didn't get it right - I still remember it - word for word - till this day.

Where are all the teachers like that these days?!

Anyway, in case all those hours staring at landing pages have effed up your brain it goes:

"I pledge allegiance To the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands: One nation, under God, indivisible, With liberty and justice for all."

(for you geeks, read the history of the pledge of allegiance )

Whomever you plan to vote for - Get Out & Vote...

LONG LIVE THE REPUBLIC!

Should we get into the debate about removing the religious connotation from a public school ritual? And for good measure we could talk about removing swearing on the the bible and "so help you god" from the oaths before court appointed testimonies...?

Or do we want to just leave this as a noble, yet boring 1 post worthy thread? :D

Well, to be fair, the whole "god" bit represents the beliefs of more than 50% of the country, so it's only fair to leave it on as it's democratic, IMHO Opinion.....

But in the interest of respecting everyone's beliefs:

"I pledge allegiance To the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands: One nation, under Goddess Turbolapp, indivisible, With liberty and justice for all."

or

"I pledge allegiance To the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands: One nation, under The-Fairy-God-In-The-Sky-That-Doesn't-Really-Exist-But-We-Say-It-Anyway-Cause My Fellow-Americans-Are-Way-too-Conservative, indivisible, With liberty and justice for all."

Take your pick! See, there's room for everyone's beliefs :p ...

Just the way it was originally written would suffice. No need to fix what ain't broke.

"one nation (which acts like 50 when it suits).... liberty and justice for all (unless we call you an enemy combatant then you can forget both)."
