The resurrection of lukep

Thanks for the warm re-welcome, everyone!

Amazon doesn't pay you UNLESS it converts, and they got dat cookie and awesome internal marketing.
My worry about Amazon is "dat cookie" is long, but not wide. (Insert penis joke here.) The way I understand it is that it's a specific-to-the-item cookie, is that what you've observed too? Any strategy tips you have for maximizing it would be appreciated.

Damn, I thought EPN was going to go back to their old payout structure and I was going to be making the EPN monies again.
I don't see it happening. Did you see that latest blog post they made? Should have just written "Affiliates: Fuck you." -It would have been more honest sounding, at least.

Welcome back. Have you considered keeping a journal of what you're doing to reinvent your business similar to what SkyFire did when he took a hit?
Thanks Jarred. Perhaps when I have a sure strategy I'll consider it... Right now I plan to desperately grasp at sticks and roots on the way down until one is firmly grounded.

Damn. That may be the funniest cat gif on the internet. Imgur & reddit can both stop trying to produce more now.

When you say "legal status of bitscoins in Thailand" what do you mean exactly?
What Netphase referred to; A few months ago the central bank of thailand declared bitcoins 'illegal.' -Of course they have no authority to do so and I still could get some, it did make them more expensive and I wouldn't even begin to try to start up a legit bitcoin business there now.

Banks gonna bank. No worries, I have no desire to start up a legit bitcoin business there.

Oh, & BTW; I'd never spell bitcoin 'bitscoins.' :p

Welcome back Luke. On a serious note, do you not think it may be time to re-think the whole 1000 website strategy?
I do question it... But I've invested a lot of money and time into my infrastructure that allows me to roll-out and manage these sites... This system is literally my most valuable business asset... So that'd be like starting from scratch.

Now each domain is going to have to perform better to earn its keep though. Will be a stressful few months.

Did I not tell you that shit wasn't going to work? But noooo nobody listens to the guy with a midget for an avatar...

Welcome back Luke - I knew you'd never leave for good.

You know something - sometimes when life kicks you hard you actually do have to start from scratch. It's tough and can take a monumental effort to find & retain focus - life throws you shit at times, and when it does start enjoying scat.

Or do something about it.

:)

I think LukeP should post less on WF and chat more offsite on skype. I am sure people could help him and give him a huge jump start since there's a lot of smart guys chatting much more openly there.

Welcome back lukep.

In regards to adsense, why not just set one up under an LLC?

Welcome back, bro.

Regarding your Adsense farm, pull all that content under 1 domain, masked as a "knowledge site" or similar.

Good to see you back on here mate.

Have you been banned from Adsense or did your sites get a thin content penalty?! I only ask as a ton of my sites got whacked with manual GWT penalties all at the same time (even new ones with no ads). Got a feeling this could have been triggered by spam complaints from competitors, still not got my head around it.

Had to up my game with 1000+ word articles every time, much cleaner onpage, social signals etc. At the same time, definitely moving away from depending on Google. Slowing getting there, but agree that it is not easy anymore for those that like to rank and scale. It's only going to get more difficult as well. It's all about Adwords with them fucks.

One of the biggest things that I've learned about affiliate marketing is that once you think you're sitting comfortably in a system you spent months working on, everything can, and will suddenly change on you. Sometimes sooner, sometimes later. Point is, never never never get comfortable.

Good luck bro.

Good luck bro.

This is why I decided to launch my own offers instead of just being an affiliate. I was tired of that shit. That's my 2 cents for Luke.

Running an offer has its own unique challenges and may not be appropriate for all affiliates. In fact many affiliates fail at running an offer. But the right offer in the correct niche that is properly managed can be far more rock solid than some affiliate sandcastle.

I can think of a few niches that LukeP could potentially excel at.

I think Incantation also gave some great advice for Luke that would work in the short term.

I wouldn't try to keep those 1,000 sites afloat. You're throwing away $8-9K/yr just for reg fees. If you rolled that cash into developing 1 or 2 decent sites it might work out better.

I used to run a large network of adult sites and spam blogs until the big G decided it didn't love me anymore and other factors sent it all down the shitter. I know that just attempting to maintain that many sites is a recipe for failure. You're spreading yourself too thin. Even with a lot of automation, there's only so much one man can do in a day.

I've been getting into manufacturing now. Dealing with actual products was something I avoided like the plague for many years, but it's been interesting and a learning experience. Have had a few setbacks along the way, but nothing major. I'm enjoying the fact that I have complete control over my product and can do what I please.

My advice would be to just keep an open mind in your business. Don't lock yourself in to one way of doing things. Don't hang on to failing sites and try to keep them afloat, just cut your losses and move on to something else. And try to not get involved in projects that will eat 100hrs of your time every week.

Have you thought about running actual affiliate offers or cpa offers on your sites vs adsense, etc? Or do you already? At least on your 50 or 100 best sites?

Welcome back.
