Personnaly, I think that if you want to make BIG BUCKS you need to work hard, but more important knowing the ways to reach your financial goals and having the right tools in hand. Regarding my opinion not every hard working, experienced webmaster will be able to make figures like $100,000+ It's also about having the 'talent' to know how... To a certain level you can learn this. Again, that's how I see things!

I don't think I was clear enough, you still sound like you think theres a big secret to making huge money, theres not. Make a site, do some seo, repeat. BAM, do that enough times and you will make some serious fucking cash. I make around $15k a month from that formula, no secrets, no black hat, no affiliate marketing, just adsense sites.

This, I disagree with. "the 'talent' to know how"? That's a ridiculous statement. What you are essentially saying is: people just "know" how to make money. That's crap. Some people are just more willing to put their efforts towards making money. Jon, Shoemoney, John, etc. these guys are "talented" not because of any inate 6th sense that told them to dig under this internet rock or that internet rock. They are "talented" because they bust their asses.

What can you do for 12+ hours a day though? I've posted about this before. I'm barely working half an hour, but that's because I outsource my work (design, programming, etc.)

If it's working for you do it on a larger scale. Imagine how much you make now with half an hour a day. Multiply that by 24 and you have a full days work plus your income is going to skyrocket.

I like the fact that affiliate marketing is based on leverage which is how you can make so much money if you put in the effort.

One question though John, on average, how many pages are your adsense sites? Are they just a one page site with a blurb about a specific topic or are they more complex sites with multiple pages etc.

John

I agree with you 1st post, HARD WORK!! I work hard but am a nuber. So I have to work extra hard and have learned the key words "outsource" it still takes alot of work and sleepless night and I always seem to be spinning my wheels. The whole takes money to make money is killing me becuase I dont have the skills to do things on my own so I run in circles trying to find the solution

got some time to have a look at a few of my sites? ;)

If I am correct, what you are saying is that everything can be reached in live:
I can become a 2nd Bill Gates as long as I work hard enough, gathering enough experience, etc.? Or starting up a new website which will become as succesful as Google? If only busting my ass does the trick... :rasta:
Why you think that certain people in live are more succesful then others (businesses, sport)? For example - both persons work their ass off, have same amount of experience, are they equal succesful? NO

I over doing things a little bit to come back to internet marketing: I do think that almost anyone here on te forum is able to make $25,000 per month, but to make figures like $100,000 - $500,000 you need more then just busting your ass...

Why can't you be the next bill gates? why can't you be better then bill gates? Theres absolutley no reason why you can't. Thats exactly the thing that sets bill gates apart from your regular joe schmoe. Joe is thinking of reasons not to take his idea to the next level where as bill thinks of reasons to take his idea to the next level. The only thing that evers holds you back from doing anything is yourself.

I love your attitude!
One of the reasons why people are succesful is being optimistic. Maybe I am too realistic & should believe more... For sure, this is key too succes as well! If you don't believe, you see not results expected for example, you will give up (and move to a new opportunity which does the same). One of the things I have difficulties with is believe in one idea and keep on plugging in. Sometimes I maybe give up too easy when I don't see results & move on to a new project! If I am not wrong, this is probably a problem many webmasters have... Characters of people also influence I think how succesful the person will be: one is negative, the other is positive/optimistic, one is stressful & the other is happy/relaxed, etc. etc.

Considering the large amount of younger folks on this board, I really disagree with advising people to work 17 hour days 7 days a week. I'm not going to dwell on the obvious dangers of your health when getting less than 7 hrs of sleep and no exercise and of course social and other dangers (such as getting an ugly wife :liebe028:). You're only young once and you're not going to be able to buy it back. Even if you make the big bucks down the line and you're sitting in you Ferrari, do you really want to look back on your youth and have nothing to show for it? It's hard to have good memories when you never left your house.

I'm not saying not to work hard, I'm saying that (especially if you're in your teens or twenties) you need to get out experience life not just work.

Ya i find myself torn between enjoying life and working hard to 'better enjoy life later on'.

It's Also hard to work those kind of hours when you already have a full time job/gf/social commitments.

But again, i try to work at it whenever i have time. It's all about balance baby.

How do you guys balance life? If at all...Carry on.

WTF. What kind of rich man has an ugly wife? Give me an example of a guy that has a Ferrari and an ugly wife.

Ding Ding Ding Ding Ding!

I agree with John. It sounds corny as hell, but if you work hard enough anything is possible. A college dropout is the richest man in the world.
