That's a valid question. The answer is quite simple - outside of natural law, everything for the most part is personal opinion. So, if we are going to judge right or wrong based on personal opinions, based on my world view, it makes sense to consult those with WELL INFORMED opinions.
The internet is riddled with people making false claims that they like to masquerade as facts. That's why professionals have to past examinations based upon standards set by a group of individuals judged as "well informed".
That's why they call experts in court to give an opinion....
Call it a pet peeve but I get really upset when people behave as if their opinions somehow have the endorsement of some official body when realistically speaking it hasn't....
Sort of like a research paper without one line of reference.....
