The Wolf of Wall Street

40% Casino, %40 Goodfellas, 10% Wall Street, %10 Glengarry Glen Ross mashup. Could have been 40 minutes shorter and still effective. DiCaprio was excellent. Enough quotes and potential animated GIFs to enhance WF threads for a few years, anyways.

Jon, if ever there was a possibility of Wickedfire, the movie...Scorsese is the man to do it.
 


Scorsese had said that there is about an hour's worth of material cut from the release, so it would have been about 4 hours long. Stuff like midget tossing got cut, although there is still a scene where it was indirectly discussed.

There are several scenes that are 20-30 minutes long when they didn't really need to be. But it does have the feels of the last hour of Goodfellas.

Leo plays his character very similarly to what Ray Liotta does in Goodfellas, but he will likely get beat for Best Actor by Matthew Mcconaughay in Dallas Buyers Club. I thought Jonah Hill is pretty good in this film, enough to get Best Supporting Actor.

This is one you can probably watch several times. My favorite part is when he got his second job, and made his first sales call after they told him how much commission he would make form the pink slips.
 
Let down of a movie as it dragged for a long time, and kinda pointless at times (scenes drag on past their point).

Direction was amazing, as well as dutch wife, dayum.

Nadine Belfort, the "real" Naomi Belfort (played by Margot Robbie), was pretty hot too.

It isn't, at least not in my opinion. I found it pretty boring actually. There is nothing new here at all, it's all been done before.

It is almost a carbon copy of Goodfellas set in Wall Street mixed with a bit of Boiler Room.

Big let down, Scorsese has dropped the ball a long time ago.

Donnie Azoff: The sides did cure cancer there, that’s the problem, that’s why they were so expensive there.

Whole theater laughing in the aisles...

i doubt jon meant any disrespect, its just that trading options on one's own account isn't very reflective of what anyone (outside hollywood) considers "wall street".
