The world without the US

great documentary on US interventionism. On netflix streaming.Isolationists, people who moan about US involvement overseas, people who claim the world will do fine without the US ought to watch the documentary.

PS- Lost a lot of respect for the Dutch after I saw the bit about what they did in Bosnia.

now go and watch The War on Democracy....also on Netflix streaming...

@fvaldes you live in Miami right? PM me when you get a chance or find me on Skype (payne.cm). I'm setting up an offline group of a few WF members who live in Miami so we can talk shop and help each other out. Cheers.

A civilized white man has written these sentences, the savage in this picture just thinks about cutting your throat

Wrong, idiot:

Here is the actual (real) quote that I believe this is based on. It really sheds light to the brutality that Native Americans were subject to by the Europeans.
From Bartolomé de las Casas, a 16th century Spanish priest and settler in the New World:
“Into this land of meek outcasts there came some Spaniards who immediately behaved like ravening wild beasts; killing, terrorizing, afflicting, torturing and destroying the native peoples to such a degree that this island of Hispaniola, once so populous, having a population that I estimated to be more than 3 millions, has now a population of barely 200 persons. There reason for killing and destroying such an infinite number souls is that the Christians have an ultimate aim, which is to acquire gold and to swell themselves with riches in a very brief time and thus rise to a higher state disproportionate to their merits. The Indians began to seek ways to throw the Christians out of their lands. The Christians with their horses and swords and pikes began to carry out massacres and strange cruelties against them. They made some low wide gallows on which the hanged victim’s feet almost touched the ground. When tied to the stake, Cacique Hatuey was told by a Franciscan Friar of the god of the Christians and he was told what he could do in the brief time that remained to him in order to be saved and go to heaven. Cacique, who had never heard of any of this before, asked the Franciscan Friar if Christians all went to heaven. When told that they did, he said that he preferred to go to hell.”

I am not sure but your reply seemed a little sarcastic which is OK :)

but instead of just coming out with a stupid topical fact like you did which in my opinion is misleading..

just like something Obama campaign would do. :)

would it NOT be better to actually think about this in a different way??

in 2008 235 people gave up their U.S. citizenship

2011 almost 1800 gave up theirs and this reflects people that legally renounced which is a process in it of itself.. its not like you can just go and say I don't want to play any more lol I would say the number of perpetual tourists that live outside the U.S is 10 times as much.

raw numbers comparing to the population is tiny

but truthfully.. if this was a stock I would say this trend is exploding don't you think?????

and I would even go as far to speculate that most if not almost all of them would be affluent people.

this is an alarming trend in my opinion

the only people migrating to the U.S. are lower migrants.. which is fine.

people with affluence and I am not talking about only rich people but people with some net worth seem to be getting the hell out.

I myself have exited years ago to a small country costa rica. and I am seeing in increase of people moving here much more than even a few years ago. I mean normal higher middle income folks.. and these folks are not even bothering to learn how to speak spanish

really fascinating.

Ever stop to think that those people may actually be fleeing Obama and the rest of the Democrats that want to tax you to death to pay for the low life's?

I mentioned this documentary with you in mind. So you might consider some contrarian evidence.

A more realistic position is more nuanced. A lot more gray than black or white.

there is a difference between a documentary and a propaganda film.

this is an 1.5 hour long propaganda piece rationalizing american imperialism and interventionism

Now, I know you can't include everything in an hour ad a half running time, but to make NO mention of the more than 50 US interventions of sovereign nations around the world, by their own hand or by proxy, since WW2 (which show why a lot of these areas are in such a mess and 'need' US 'help'), is to completely eviscerate any kind of balance that would have made this film credible.

the only thing you have to do is look at our military spending and wonder how long we can continue to sustain our World Police Force (tm)

and if you're interested in seeing polls done across the world of "who the biggest threat to world peace" is, the results might surprise you (hint: its not iran, n korea, or afghanistan). just google it.

GOOD DAY SIR

Of the approximately 150k Allied troops that landed on D-Day, half of them were speaking bastardized English.

I love Churchill, and I think he managed his burden probably better than any man could have, but without US intervention in WWII, things would have gone a different way.

Aye fella, Russian

Like any global empire, the US has done some good things, some bad things, some great things and some terrible things.

The same as all the other empires before it (British, Spanish, Frenchm, Ottoman, Roman, Greek, Persian etc etc.

All empires exploit their territory / colonies / economically or politically dependent states for their own benefits, always have done, always will. The US is no different here. Each war they start or join, is carefully planned and has set selfish goals (selfish in the sense it benefits the US first and foremost, ofcourse they could be secondary benefits but these are purely consequences of fulfilling the primary selfish goals

The US does not intervene / attack / bring "democracy" to other countries for the good of the local people (regardless of it's comical military operational names, Operation Freedom *lololol), but for it's own personal gain in power, economic or politcal goals.

This is just how governments / ruling elites work. The End.

*If the British tried to resurrect the slave trade as "operation free green card" it is still bull shit
Maybe the Belgians (Leopold) would have done better if their genocide was renamed "operation more spacious living", but it is still genocide.

Anyone that believes a country which accounts for 40% of global arms spending is a peaceful nation just trying to protect itself is insane. If your neighbor was buying up every weapon he could find, wouldn't you be a little worried that maybe he's not right in the head and pretty damn paranoid?

War is peace, freedom is slavery.
