from bob costas's famous attempt to educate us all on gun control at halftime (thanks bob), to these ludicrous "no more" commercials (first, blatantly aimed at males despite 50% of domestic violence being female-based, and second, saying with your donation they can end domestic violence and rape, which is obviously roll-on-the-fucking-floor laughable).... yeah, it's gotten a bit much.
 
.. and one of those "no more" commercial jokes was cris carter. during the 'incognito' scandal he looked into the camera in tears, and said incognito should be banned because the word 'nigger' was the last word so many people heard before they were lynched.

the very next story on the broadcast was about how a black NFL player had called a black ref a nigger during a game. carter was 'meh'.

the next story was about the outrage over changing the name of the redskins... back on his high horse.

let's not pretend the NFL & ESPN in particular haven't become intolerable drama queens of a very distinct political persuasion.

are they trying to capitalize on the current political climate of whiney bitches? sure they are. but don't wreck OP for pointing it out.

all good and nice, but where covergirl won't, others will. if covergirl (and by that i mean their "angwy customers") thinks they have a monopoly on MNF viewership and want to throw a fit, they're welcome to advertise during halftimes of NCAA volleyball. as for the douches who stop watching football because of it?? lulz. there's a (trans)gender for that.

I agree that football is becoming watered down. CBs can't even breathe on WRs, without a holding/PI call, then we praise Peyton for breaking passing records.

Although, I think we need to keep in mind some of the damage that NFL players sustain while playing the game.

Apparently Junior Seau had 15+ surgeries in his career, and the damage showed with the brain scans after his death; apparently there was evidence of CTE (chronic traumatic encephalopathy), which is linked to concussions.

The NFL will live on, but in a less intense way.

I'm surrounded by this shit. Whatever happened to people being like "hey wussbag why don't you toughen the fuck up and quit being so thin skinned and irrational? Same reason you can't watch a game without being pitched by a beer brand, a truck brand or a snack food item. It's all about hitting the highest number of people in your target demographic. If as many adult males watched daytime soaps as they did football, you can be sure the PSA's, etc.s would be seen there.

Yep, gonna show my age here but back when I was a teen (da 80s), nobody gasped in horror at those things. You'd have to really say something awful before someone got upset with something you said in relation to another race, gender, sexual orientation, etc.

One of the biggest reasons why this PC police stuff is so prevalent now is that men have given women a voice...and for some reason care what they have to say about such matters.

This was the worst possible thing that could've happened because once you do that, you have a large movement of females (plus white knight males who back them) that will try to suppress male behavior they don't like. This 'domestic violence' commercial isn't just an innocent PSA, it's part of a larger movement to destroy male behavior.

The question is, what would it take to change things back to the way they were when men could act like men, say whatever they wanted to say, and do so without repercussion like losing your job or being ostracized by society as a whole?
